Another thing is I feel AFL Supercoach scores gives a better reflection of how well a player played compared to AFL Fantasy.

Didnt realise the scoring was so much more deeper.

Goals= 8 points, Intercept Contested Mark = 8 points, Contested Mark = 6 points.

Too many teams in AFL Fantasy, players just stat pad .

Also think Supercoach rewards the smaller things in details. eg Shepherds, spoils, how well one used the ball.

There has been some updates to that surely? On there (posted in 2016) it shows a score assist at 3.5 points. Under the current format its 3 points.

We have set up a league of 16 teams but our fixture makes no sense. 3 teams have been assigned no games at all and the other teams have been assigned 4 or 5 byes. We start league games in round 2 until round 20

Another newbie question in relation to SuperCoach, will the squad valuation of a Supercoach squad likely fluctuate during a year above/below the $10 million salary cap?
Absolutely .....squad value towards the end of the season will exceed $14M .....there'll be a thread tracking everyones squad value, which determines how many value picks you've selected, versus shopping at Tiffany's

When do trades start coming out of the 36? It says I have unlimited for round 1, but is that only until Rich vs Carlton?

You can continue to trade thru R1 ....as long as the players you want to trade in & out , haven't played

Awesome, cheers. My comp organiser emailed that we needed to have it sorted by the Thursday game. Which would have given me about an hour from when teams were named to sort my bench rookies. Glad that's not the case.

It is for CARL / RICH players ....everyone else you can keep trading in / out, until each clubs teams are announced

Yep I already binned Cincotta haha. When you say keep trading, not coming out of the 36 though yeah?
No

Next, you'll need to learn trading & use of boost trades ....for another day though ;)

Whats the maximum value a Supercoach player can go up to in a year? anyone know for a newbie
Think Gary Ablett Junior used to get up around the high $700k at times, but it all depends on the rolling three game average and the magic number.

The higher your price the higher your BE though, so players end up fluctuating.

Ideally, if you are going to pay up or find value in a player from the outset, you want limited variance in their scores, however if you are trying to complete a shark move, sometimes the greater variance and largest ceiling works best to get a quick spike in price.

A question regarding AFL team selection.

I noticed in yesterday's naming of teams on the AFL website, both Clubs only named 22 players, incl. 4 on the Interchange with 4 emergencies.

Does this mean the 23rd player (sub) will come from the Emergencies?
Assume so, it was like that last year.
