Ruscoe is the logical replacement for Maynard.
Frampton offers more flexibility than Kreuger IMO.
For Maynard Markov>Ryan>Ruscoe. For Murphy Frampton>Ruscoe. Ruscoe broke through on AD because we were without Murphy and Frampton rucked.

Frampton has great versatility and I was surprised to see him dropped.
I watched Frampton in the ruck against Adelaide and he was excellent in the contests, but between them he spent a lot of time in no man's land - not far enough forward or back and thus the ball getting kicked over his head.

I don't think his footy smarts are up to him being treated as a swingman. Needs to be locked into and learn one position.

Pace aside - Why do you rate Ryan and Markov ahead of Ruscoe?
In a critical game why isn’t Ruscoe’s experience preferred?
I’m not sure I do my assessment was based primarily on team selection to this point of the season and the noise building around Ryan, but it would be competitiveness for me. I also don’t know if Ruscoe has the experience for a critical game.

Played very well in the cauldron of Anzac Day so he’s far more proven in a critical games than Ryan. As finals approach these “backup players” need senior games.
Only lack of opportunity is keeping Ruscoe out of the AFL.

Ryan’s time will come

I’m not so sure. Langford seemed to turn him around pretty easily and aside from the spot up of Ginnivan it was a pretty vanilla performance, IMO. Ryan’s time is probably coming soon so fingers crossed he’s ready to go.

Kick to Ginnivan, I agree was great - made better by the high pressure at the time which showed poise, and calmness in the frenzy.
He had 4 intercept marks showing excellent positioning and reading of the game.

I do rate him, but let’s see what happens.

Esp after Sam Weideman got a bit of separation from him early / 1st half in that game.

I agree he's been unlucky to-date in terms of senior games played (albeit his laconic style may have counted against him).

Also think, subject to tank, he could easily play wing

Played mid/on-ball as junior
Up forward for stints when Bucks was in charge
Then moved down back to play on medium talls

Running endurance would be his challenge I’d imagine but could do some decent work in both 50m arcs: running back as defensive cover /spoiling and up forward floating across in WHE style to take grab

At 193 cms and 93 kgs he could be a real weapon as that tall, big bodied winger although he’d need to slim down in order to up his aerobic capacity.

HH and Draper, for mine, also candidates to slot onto a wing once Sidey hangs up the boots

Edward Allan will be better than these two although I don't discount either.

Oh ample deity, has it been decreed that he will always be Edward or are those of us who favour the catchy Ed in the clear when we hit the pearly gates?
Loads of blasphemy today on BF CW.
I had to turn the other cheek on some threads.
Clicked my neck much like Titch did. He's a follower by the way..

Edward is one of our saviours at end times.
He is spoken of as Edward.

Dunno WTF I'm talking about but mark my words.

They didn't listen when I spoke of Oleg and I doubt they're listening now.

Maynard a Beau should be fine but I don't know what happened to Steene. As for Freddy, well, he knocked himself out as only Freddy can do
Steene copped a heavy knock to the face. He went off the ground halfway through the last quarter and didn't come back on. It didn't look too bad.

Must've missed it as I wasn't paying very close attention in the last quarter. The only thing I was keeping an eye on was Reef's goal tally.

I really hope he can get this part of his game right, because physically he offers a lot. There are players who are able to just take a bit more care in protecting themselves and can go on to play good careers.
