I doubt he would see the funny side of your post.
I am not sure I find it funny either really,I think Nathan,s doing his best to stay relevant and if he had taken that and not been injured he may have been in the frame to play this week.

This is why I find it so frustrating he is exactly what we need up forward a pack splitter and can kick a goal and that is only me imagine how he feels personally poor B-------.

The plot thickens with McStay’s “illness”! I would now be shocked if he doesn’t return to the seniors.
If he is not good to go Friday with Checkers out now I would think he loses his automatic inclusion into the team, even if he is only able to last a half and then subbed out.

McStay has been missing a long time now even if he has been training the house down, for me a massive difference between training and match play even at VFL level.

You reckon he was pulled knowing Checkers was pending a scan? Reckon you could be right.
100%. What would you do in those circumstances? Knowing Checkers was in that position do you wrap McStay in cotton wool or put him out there for 45 mins in Frankston?..

We wouldn't have dropped Markov because he's the reason Nick can now play midfield. AJ and Mcinnes should come in and that actually makes me a bit exited. Very mobile, strong marking Forward line
Markov is a handy defender, but he doesn’t come close to providing what Nick does at half back.

Also, the worst injuries are definitely the ones that pop up out of nowhere after a game. First Elliott, now Checkers. Any others?
To be fair, the Elliott one was not much of a surprise. In fact to me it was more a sigh of relief that he was carrying something and not that he'd completely fallen off a cliff out of the blue.

No one does, but if we want to play Nick somewhere else we need to replace him.
Someone will but I don’t see see it as Markov allowing Daicos to move into the middle. Rather we’ve moved Nick in the middle because we needed him there and Markov is the best defender to come in and re shuffle the back 6.

That theory doesn't explain why we wanted to acquire Markov in the first place. Almost certainly Fly wanted a running halfback to help release Nick long term. If a spot hadn't opened up for Markov on the list I reckon the coaches would have been hesitant to move Nick into the midfield as soon as they did, even when JDG got suspended.

It explains perfectly why we recruited Markov. Fly wanted more running depth and Markov has provided that in spades.

Long term I don’t see a low possession and low metres gained player replacing Nick off the half back flank.

I agree, I don’t think Markov is considered Nick’s replacement on the HBF, that’s the wrong scope to to funnel Oleg into.

He’s at the moment very helpful in mitigating Nick’s move to midfield but I think long run we’ll look to either develop or recruit another damaging rebounding flanker type, in the model of a Sinclair, Short or Blakey and they’ll join both Noble and likely Oleg too as our HBF runner gunners.

I heard Bailey Fritshit’s out for 7-8, I’m really sad for him, may just be able to stomach a Melbourne game during that time.

Josh Dunkley is going to miss a week or two for Brisbane with a calf. It will be fascinating to see how other clubs go with an actual injury to deal with.

Don't get it. Why would that stop him playing the minutes they were planning on playing him for?

Risk/reward. Look what happened to Freddie playing against Frankston after a rare period of availability and increasingly promising form.

No but with Nick playing more midfield minutes, it seems Oleg and IQ are both playing with a more attacking edge to perhaps make up for Nick’s loss from that area of the ground.
