From what I saw of Krueger,s injury I do not think he was knocked out or concussed I think it was more a serious neck injury but he was moving his arms and when taken from the field he walked slowly assisted by trainers.

His head hit the ground hard and it did look like a wiplash as his neck went over a blokes leg. It was nearly a screamer as I think the ball jolted loose when he hit the ground but a great effort none the less, if only he could stay on the field he would be in my team most weeks I like his physicality.

Key forward Brody Mihocek has experienced hamstring tightness and will miss this week’s Round 17 match against the Bulldogs. The Club will provide a further update next week.

Brayden Maynard had an incident with his shoulder and a bump to his knee during the side’s Round 16 match against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday. Maynard’s knee is okay, but his shoulder will be monitored throughout the week. He will be assessed later in the week to determine his availability.

Dynamic forward Nathan Kreuger has entered the AFL concussion protocols following an incident in the VFL on the weekend. The Club will provide an update next week on his time frame to return to the game.

Dan McStay was close to a return through the VFL on the weekend but unfortunately came down with illness on Friday night. McStay missed the first few days of training this week but if he completes a full session on Wednesday, he is expected to be available for selection at some level this weekend.

Veteran midfielder Steele Sidebottom has put in a power of work over the last two weeks through his running program. Sidebottom will commence football skill drills and non-contact training. Sidebottom is expected to complete full training next week and look to be available for selection.

Finally, Charlie Dean has entered a de-load period for the next 10 days before resuming a greater training load when he returns.

McStay in (if available), failing that Johnson or McInnes.

Maynard out means we might not drop Markov.

We wouldn't have dropped Markov because he's the reason Nick can now play midfield. AJ and Mcinnes should come in and that actually makes me a bit exited. Very mobile, strong marking Forward line

No love for DeGoey?

So we're going into Friday's game with Billy Frampton as our only option as a tall forward? Cox/Cameron as 2nd resting tall forward.
Might have to rush McStay straight back in.
Reef?

I don’t think we’ll have two talls in. It’s McInnes or Johnson. I have a feeling we’ll go with Reef based on the game against Frankston.

Markov to HB was more a filler role because JDG was out so we needed a midfield/forward and Nick Daicos was the one we chose.

If ever bringing someone straight back it’s McStay now. If he’s fit, he has to play. Otherwise Johnson will get called back up.
Bad week for Krueger to give himself a concussion. He may have been given an opportunity.

I feel like the role of Freddie is to ensure he gets injured before he can come back and play.
