Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

A lot of dumb stuff is said on this board at times, but I don't remember anyone calling for Keane after two games?

That being said, some strange stuff gets said at times.

I went back to the changes for round 3 thread. In the first 5 pages there were 8 posts for Keane to come in, including one by me.

There were also 3 posts from Scorpus calling for Murphy to be dropped :D
To be fair Scorpus - he make the Murphy call in every change thread... & he isn't alone.

I don't know about the 2 games bit but there were quite a few derogatory comments re Jordan Butts by "some" posters when he was clearly struggling with a calf issue at points in the season hence the heavily strapped calf obvious to everyone. He eventually worked through it and when the calf strapping came off so did his form start to get back to the old Jordan Butts type games.
Some still have written Butts off.

Just needs to get his body right for next season.

Why do you say a lie?

Who are you saying is a liar?

It’s a lie because it is being deliberately dishonest in the context of the discussion. And by extension, any person who put forward Rory being extended was ok because going onto a veteran list meant that he wasn’t taking up a list spot were being deliberately deceitful. AKA liars.

I think he's got a giant hill to climb. Keane went past him, and will also get a preseason.
Butts will start in 22, but probably only because Murray is injured.

When Murray is back, the choice will be between Butts and Keane.
And given our attempts to get Petty and Cox, I suspect the club and I expect Keane to be the one to stay in.

That would be me, as one of those posters .....I stand by my negative comments ....for 2 years now, he's struggled to show he'll be a top defender

I doubt his calf is that chronic

TBF ....Butts looked better in his last handful of games, where he played higher up the ground .....but played deep, he continues to struggle

Given he isn't exactly athletic or skilled, he needs to be a strong one on one player. He loses too easily there currently.

One on one, Butts is poor .....my beef though is he's a reactive defender .....struggles to read the play formulating in front of him, thus reacts to his opponent's actions, giving his opponent that split second advantage

Take May & Lever .....both read the play better than their opponents ....they're not as focussed on their opponent, but where the ball is going

I think the obvious preference is to have a two-way defender who can hold their own 1-1 defensively and intercept if needed, which both Butts and Keane can only do one of currently. The difference will be Butts probably doesn't have the skill set to improve his intercept stuff whereas Keane is good at that, but probably does have the scope to improve his 1-1 contest work with some more time in the gym and just general experience in football.

My guess is that's why they've tried the smaller defensive line so many times in the past. They want a more active and mobile back 6, we got those pieces in Murray, Worrell and Keane, the question will be if Keane can develop into a 2nd KPD or if he's still a 3rd tall, which we could not need to worry about if we grabbed a player like Petty for example. You could also guess that the reason they let Doedee go was because maybe they're worried he won't have the same agility and speed he once had after doing his ACL again.

If you’re hoping to block ads in apps, not just in your browser, we recommend blocking ads at the network level using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). We recently released AdBlock VPN and while it doesn't currently provide ad blocking, we hope to provide this in the future.

Yes, I have reported it to chief. Looks like it's the Red Cross ad that seems to be causing the issues.

I had to use an adblock plug in on firefox to get around the issue.
