Last opportunity to trade him for something I think, I like him as a player but is injured a lot and doesn’t always play to many games a year and like Doedee, Worrell has his position covered.
Doedee and MacAdam can be replaced and we have more important needs on our list like running half back and another midfielder

Depends on what we can get though. Is a 3rd rounder worth more than keeping McAdam? Probably not.

As we start to challenge for finals - he will be handy as depth.

Collingwood midfield not stacked??

That's a pretty darn good lineup individually and collectively.
I'd argue, apart from Daicos, who is not a FT MID ......Crisp, T.Mitchell, Adams, De Goey, are good average players, inconsistent players .....no All Australians there .....Mitchell the Matt Crouch comparison .....and not in the same conversation as Oliver, Petracca, and Viney

DeGoey - a good average, inconsistent player?

Taylor Adams was an All Australian in 2020, you also left out Scott Pendlebury who is a 6 time All Australian. Not to mention that Crisp made the All Australian Squad as a midfielder last year.

If you don't think Collingwood's midfield is stacked - I am not sure what to tell you.

And Mitchell is a hell of a lot closer to Laird this year than he is to Crouch (who can't even get a game).

What? Why?

McAdam is the perfect age profile to contribute as a mature player to our next push.

And we will need him more as Pedlar and Rash transition into the midfield.
Same reason we should let Doedee go. Because he has value, is in an area we are already relatively strong, and will likely be worth more to someone else than to us, and we have more pressing needs (midfield).

Not just that, they go seven deep, if you include J Daicos and the bursts he gets through the middle from time to time

Don’t think there’s many teams in the league that go that deep by numbers, not even Melb or Port

Brownlow medalist.

I don't think McAdam is going to offer much in return.

The fact will be that he will be a 29 year old forward next year who has never had a season with more than 25 goals or 15 matches played.

Just my spidey senses.

Ash is out of contract, not established at a big Vic club, his team isn’t knocking the lights out, Vic Country Shepparton lad so no Melbourne home base and surely has ties to Rachele, great size and super quick with midfield potential, we’ve got money to spend and appear happy to use draft capital to get what we need now.

Y’know, vibes.

Happy to entertain but GWS gave up an extra first to get him. Can’t imagine they want to let him slip through just as he is breaking out. I think we are zero chance with him

Watching that game on the weekend the eagles older guys have lost all spirit they’ve had enough at the club
Call me stupid but I’d throw a future 4th to WCE for Gaff
Costs nothing and we need midfield depth , get him back into a good environment give us 3 years , chase that flag you foolishly missed out on
Form temporary , class is permanent and he has that in spades
Gaff is as slow as a wet week in July...Matt Crouch is already on our list.

Brownlow medalist.
Patrick Cripps .....Ollie Wines ....Priddiss ....Woewodin

Elliot Yeo would be the one out of any of them that I’d ask the question of..

If i was going to.. and its a big IF..

Priddis and Woewodin are infinitely worse
The thing that made the Wines one worse is that the two best players in the league by a country mile in 2021 were oliver and Petracca..

Just devestatingly good and their club easily won the flag on the back of that.

And it exposes a huge flaw in the brownlow voting process.. if the two best players in the comp are on the same team then they have to share the votes and that knocks them out of contention.

The brownlow is meant to go to the best player in the comp that season.

BC .....Yeo is 29 YO .....I was under the impression, your whole argument was based around giving more opportunities to our youth ?

PS ...do you really think, we would consider trading for a 29 YO ? .....30 later this year

You're a harsh judge. That reads pretty well to me.

I did a quick list of the depth chart, assuming a standard 7/8/7 split across def/mid/fwd. This is one version of where we could be by the start of next year?

FORWARDS x7
Rankine, Thilthorpe, Fogarty, Walker, Keays, Murphy, McAdam

(McHenry, Cook, Himmelberg, Gollant)

MIDFIELD x8
O’Brien, Laird, Dawson, Soligo, Rachele, Pedlar, Jones, Sholl

(Schoenberg, Sloane, Berry, Taylor, Hately, ruckman)

DEFENSE x7
Smith, Murray, Milera, Butts, Hinge, Michelanney, Worrell

(Doedee, Parnell, Nankervis, Keane)

There's a few obvious spots we'd look to fill/change in the off-season that I've marked with italics?

No.. i said IF you were gonna go after one of the west coast guys.. it would be yeo..

Not… I would go after one of them..

I agree with you.. fxxk going after a 29 year old..

We need a 22-26 year old.

We have a massive hole in our list for mids in that age range given shoey and berry are struggling.

Hopefully this year is the kick up the backside they need .....and we see the fruits of that next year

Berry with his brut physicality is very important IMO ....although not that tall, he provides a real physical presence

I know where you are coming from but Wines and boak combined for more votes than oliver and petracca that year. So he had another star taking more votes off of him than oliver did.

Do you ?

Will any of them get in the AA-Squad ?
Of course I do, why do you now rate an afl award yet you’ve just supplied examples of players you think devalue the brownlow.
Are you saying that everyone who has an AA is a star? DBJ, Tex has never won an AA
