Murphy is 2nd for the team for I50's, yet ranks 10th for score involvements per game and 8th for goal assists per game.

He's been plugged into a role he doesn't have the skills or the poise to actually capitalise on.
That suggests putrid delivery

Draper is contracted & dount they are trading Wines.
Think they’re referring to Sid Draper who’s looking like a top 5 draft prospect for 2024. Ideally we’d do absolutely everything we can to get him but no idea how we’d get it done with our drafting record and with Welsh as a F/S. If Port snag him like they did Rozee it’s absolute curtains for us. Get his brother Arlo here perhaps, admittedly haven’t been following his progress at Collingwood this season but Pies fans seemed bullish on him last year. Yet to get a game, and with Collingwood’s list, he might be waiting a while.

Someone said on here a while back that we're keeping in touch with Arlo

Spitballing and playstationesque...but i would not mind trying the following:

Doedee leaves as a rfa - band 3 likely = earlyish 2nd round pick

Offer the north 2nd and the doedee compo to GC for flanders OR

Offer the GC 2nd and the doedee 2nd to north for powell assuming they get sanders as a gift and are wanting mckercker

Offer the north 2nd to GC for a contracted hollands.

Go to WCE and offer our likely pick 5 or 6 AND our 2024 1st for their 2024 1st..maybe we offer our 2024 2nd as well to sweeten the offer.

If it came off, we lose all our 2023 draft capital in the 1st and 2nd round but gain either flanders OR powell and hollands and head into next year with wce 1st that we have speculated will come in very early so we can get draper before a welsh bid.

What it does is help our midfield with the 2 guys we trade in and allows us a crack at the best SA mid next year

Not that our club wpuld try any of this but just trying to come up with ways to solve the midfield problems going forward

Doesn't matter what role he plays, he's not AFL standard.

Yep. It would be devastating if Port got their gruby hands on another gun SA midfielder in Draper to add to JHF and Rozee.

Might be a bit of a flyer, but if we are wanting an experienced KPP would it be worth taking a flyer on Tom McDonald?

As a forward he's fallen down the depth chart at Melbourne, especially now Van Rooyan has come on. But he played CHB at a high level for the first 5 or so years of his career from memory.

Still only 30, has finals experience, 195cm and 101kg. 1 year left on a contract in Victoria. Might be the kind of player that could be convinced to explore options based on playing time. Would be a lateral move, but might take the emphasis of KPD until Murray is back.

Good player in his prime but like Talia, was cooked by 29.

Would rather grab Tomlinson for a year or two. Behind Lever, May and Petty in the pecking order and would provide good cover for Murray next season.
