Correct, I made a mistake by saying list. But most of our 30+ crew played WAFL this year. So the average age/games played for the team we would put out every week would be 17th youngest and 17th least experienced. We were one month older, but were less experienced than the Hawks when we played them yesterday.

Anyway I didn't mean to intrude on this thread, just wanted to point out that Cox would cost you guys probably much more than you should be willing to pay for him. But Fremantle did not plan on taking any picks in the first round for the next two years when they traded for Jackson, so they would not be pushing him out either to build up their draft hand.

With this year in the books, and finals really being the minimum next year, Got to have a crack at Cox. won't cost us much. Besides midfield, our defence is what has really cost it for us this year, really got to address it. I know we got a few good kids coming through, but a player like Cox really fast tracks the development of this defence, and it really sets him as the leader down back which we don' really have.

Cant imagine him ever bothering to chase his opponent as a defender..

Himm is, and will never be anything more than, a tall forward that can chop out in the ruck.. and he’s sanfl standard that is a break glass option for the AFL side..

I dont think the little currency that would be required to get Grundy is going to affect our ability to get a better midfielder.

Hell Brodie Grundy at the peak of his power is another midfielder almost!

31 next year ? Sure get him at right price but he’s definitely not a priority

ROB was horrible last night but ironically it was the first time hes taken three or more marks all year. Im all for getting someone else but it wont be grundy.

Yep, has the speed and agility of a giraffe.

Sometimes you just need to put a line through a player, you can't just burn opportunity for others by trialing them in every single position on the ground.

I just hope we're paying him absolute minimum wage.

Wouldn't be afraid to trade nearly everyone in the side for the right price aside from Rankine and Dawson.

I'm a fan of Hamill and the issue of CTE and concussion is somewhat complex (giving the players themselves sign up for a job with physical contact).

But he should be delisted or at least placed on the long term injury list and delisted at the end of his contract.

He will never stop getting concussions and we need to protect him from himself. He isn't going to stop himself from playing, as I wouldn't in his situation, but we need to.

2nd rounder for Cox would be a fair trade. If he wants to come home get it done crows.

That would be an amazing deal, won't happen. Freo will want a first and with our need for a top line mid we can't afford it.

Cox's manager would be encouraging him to play through next year at Freo to get to free agency surely.

If the aim of this off season is to bring in elite talent, as it should be, then the draft, and the Gold Coasts pick 4, must be our strategy. Need to be aggressive!
So ….. why not package up pick 9, pick 20 and next years first for pick 4 and GC 2nd next year. Puts us in the frame for one of Curtin, Watson or Duursma. For Gold Coast, they get a future asset and could then on trade 9 for multiple picks or a ready made player.
Just a thought, but why not?

I think if Cox says he wants to come home generally a trade gets sorted. What's happening with McAdam? Hasn't signed so if he does want to leave and it's WA I'm sure we can sort something out.

it wont happen. It will at max include 1 or 2 of our second round picks which are top of the second round picks, and maybe a mcadam/himmelberg/hammil.
