We’d have to give assurances we would pick them up, doubt any player will move from their club for a chance at this late stage. We can’t still get someone to start training on? I guess maybe it might be too late in the off-season to start doing so?
He’s a mid defender isn’t he? Wouldn’t think we need another of thoseOr we put Madgen on the AFL list.
Agree, we need a key position player not another mid size. He’s a mid defender isn’t he? Wouldn’t think we need another of those
Today just made the chase for Harry Himmelberg a must ....too late to Draft the KPD we need ...have to go a buy a good oneAgree, we need a key position player not another mid size.
Hopefully Berg is doing some defensive drills.
Or we put Madgen on the AFL list.
Really makes it a head scratcher that we have not drafted any KPP's in the last two drafts, especially with Talia and Frampton also having recently left.Agree, we need a key position player not another mid size.
Hopefully Berg is doing some defensive drills.
Yes, I think Geelong will be making a pitch to Doedee.Doedee leaving might not be our choice though.
If he goes, I'd rather Himmelberg or Redman than pick 30.
You sweet naive childSurely if we were to put a KPD on as a like for like we would review all available not just the guy we picked up for our SANFL team. I doubt he is the best available key defender outside of the AFL. It will be interesting to see if we wait to mid season draft or jump in beforehand

We do not need a 29yo undersized key defender. You sweet naive child
' oh that was lucky we have Madgen '
We would lose any compensation if we took Redman or HH, best to resign Doedee soon.Yes, I think Geelong will be making a pitch to Doedee.
Plenty have Sam Skinner and Haydem McLean both left South Adelaide during the pre-season supplementary period, both had done their pre-season at the Panthers and I'm sure there's others...We’d have to give assurances we would pick them up, doubt any player will move from their club for a chance at this late stage.
From what I've seen of Ethan Phillips he's more an intercepting defender than your body on body type KPD.We do not need a 29yo undersized key defender.
There are available KPDs that are younger and taller and much better investments. Ethan Phillips for one.
Madgen isn't really a KPD, he's more of a Jake KellySurely if we were to put a KPD on as a like for like we would review all available not just the guy we picked up for our SANFL team. We didnt need an injured 26 year old midfielder eitherWe do not need a 29yo undersized key defender.
There are available KPDs that are younger and taller and much better investments. Ethan Phillips for one.
They both got picked up? My point was I doubt many would give up their club without assurances they would be picked upPlenty have Sam Skinner and Haydem McLean both left South Adelaide during the pre-season supplementary period, both had done their pre-season at the Panthers and I'm sure there's others...
Would much prefer taking a gamble on someone like Shaun Bennier for exampleOr we put Madgen on the AFL list.
Sam Skinner by Port, Hayden McLean by the Swans. McLean has played 31 games for the Swans since they snaffled him from the Panthers in the supplementary period. Skinner played 2 league games for Port this year. They both got picked up? My point was I doubt many would give up their club without assurances they would be picked up
Or Çentrals Brodie Tuck or Oakleigh Chargers Jed Rule.Would much prefer taking a gamble on someone like Shaun Bennier for example
He is renowned for intercepting (which I don't mind either), but can defend one on one apparently (haven't seen him live). He should have the height and size to go with the big forwards as a back up to Butts and Murray. From what I've seen of Ethan Phillips he's more an intercepting defender than your body on body type KPD.
He was under the eyes of the recruiters all year but no interest even in the rookie draft so they must have some doubts about some aspects of his game re AFL. Has he been training with any of the AFL clubs over summer with a view to getting taken in the supplementary period?
I wonder what the status is with Oscar McDonald's back issue...He is renowned for intercepting (which I don't mind either), but can defend one on one apparently (haven't seen him live). He should have the height and size to go with the big forwards as a back up to Butts and Murray.
If we are holding out for an improvement on Butts/ Murray, there would be nothing wrong with taking a swing at a mobile ball user for the half back in the SSP.
Not if we did a trade with Essendon. We would lose any compensation if we took Redman or HH, best to resign Doedee soon.
