Horne-Francis thriving in Port Adelaide's competitive environment

Fully fit and firing, Jason Horne-Francis is relishing his new surroundings and using his time on the track to build alongside his new teammates

Im trying not to be too bitter about how he changed clubs and my prediction is that he will be a lot more popular after pre season games. He will play massive minutes there and score very well. When the season comes, he wont spend as much time on ball. That said, at that price, he looks a very viable option.

I hear you. He is probably my very last selected player in my team so if i can downgrade him then ill do so and ill find a way to spend the 90k from that trade.
WC board seem to think he would play CHF if Darling is LTI. Might free him up to get up the ground. Not as likely to get the best defender then.

I'm 50/50 on him. You'd love to be able to loop him, but that's not possible in the early rounds.

Yeah exactly. Given my current team, i think if i keep him, he will be on my bench for a few rounds. It is somewhat of a hedge as if he does well, then i still get the price rise, and if he scores like shit, then he isnt on my field and i can quickly downgrade him to the best rookie on the bubble.

I just really hope he doesnt smash out a 100+ against North in round 1!

WC don't have a great start to the season either. He could easily kick a bag vs North to suck a few in, then squirt out 30's and 40's for two months after that.

He does have JS in his favour, but is low down my list. I might even take Ben King instead if he looks good in the PS games. Has the same JS but should be in a better team. Or neither. FFS

Yeah Ben King interest me. Cheap, main focal point, got help now with Chol down there, Suns historically first half of the season better than back half. 🤔🤔

Neither IMO.

McLean, Pedlar, Stone, Daniels, Phillipou, Richards maybe, Drury maybe, Van Rooyen - there are sufficient alternatives that you don't need these premium priced (for rooks) KPFs, IMO

Job security is a big factor in selecting cheap KPF's they won't be the sub and aren't the 22nd player either.

Suns were much more competitive last season, stayed in most games better. Hopefully not many blow out's and maybe a few more wins.

Yeah you are probably right, only issue is......

King's no chance of getting subbed out unless injured, unlike some of the above. Allen the same.

Reports I've read say Boak is playing more forward, with Rozee, Butters, and JHF the main men supporting Wines.

I've put him in for Fyfe ATS.

Do we even know there's going to be a sub?

A lot of folks basing their selections on this, but we don't even know that it's going to be a thing

Thank you for the link.

It's interesting, because that's way back in December and I've heard recently from someone reasonably closely connected to a club that there won't be a sub, that they are planning to trial a 5 man bench in the preseason games. Maybe he's talking crap

not like the AFL to change it a week out from season start

At $419k Cunnington surely needs to be considered as a keeper, no?

And why is Fyfe in my team? Huh?

It’s like I simply don’t take this shit seriously enough anymore.

Yep. If you pick him you'd be hoping he goes 100-105 which is fine for F5-6.

Only 10% ownership which is a bit of a surprise so he could also be a POD forward if he starts well.

The three years preceding 2022 suggest he has the capacity to go 100.

Can he repeat that as a 31 year old coming off a lengthy layoff and serious illness?
