It’s frightening how much we are hated by other teams. Just for being a small club and not very successful. Imagine if we start winning we rival Collingwood for hatred. Let them hate btw. Let them hate.

They're absolutely losing it. He text me asking why we were getting pick 2,3 and 5. I had to break it all down for him in simple terms.
Tell him not to worry. Tell him they have a coach that is a "secret weapon" when it comes to all things trade and draft. Tell him a pick pushed out to the early 30s in the hands of this mythical "secret weapon" will become the equivalent of around pick 5 to the mere mortals of other clubs.

If McKay is a compo pick 3 and not some strange pick outside the 18 because fools think we've got too much assistances already.
Like the trade of #14+#19 (1161+915=2109) to GC for their pick 5 (1878) which gives them a surplus of 231 points but l'd try and haggle #14+F#20 (2073) which gives them only a 195 surplus and keeps our present #19 and F#19
Trade #3 & #5 for WCE #1 which leaves us with #1,2,19,39,58,59,76 plus F#19...WCE goes from #1,#19 to #3,#5 keeping their #19
OR we just stay with #2,#3 and #5...really depends on whether WCE really want Reid or how much do we want Reid aka Cadman and GWS last year?

WC currently hold 1, 20, 34, 39.

Likely they contribute to landing the GC pick in some form using 20, 34, or 39

I get it, they think they deserve 8 picks, but, in the unlikely event a trade does go through, and it's more than 2 , 14... then I think they cough something up too.

There was a time in my life when I was seeing a Collingwood supporter who thought her Buckley was the equal of the king Carey. I always bagged Buckley to her and it got to the point where she had tears 😢. I was asked to stop and I had a Seinfeld moment " do l choose her or bagging Buckley. "Have a happy life, Buckley is shit"

Ran across 50 to have a shot at goal about 4-5 times for a couple of points and some out of bounds.

Only goal came from his signature “too high” which he won’t get at afl level because they don’t pay to high

Yep and can only kick 35 metres.

I’m not seeing it I wouldn’t touch I’ve tried to get behind drafting him but I think he we won’t make it.

It'll move at least 5 picks for academy prospects/FS (Walter, Read,Rogers, Croft, McCabe). Then you have the McKay and Gresham compensations + PP. So 8 picks at a minumum.
I don't know how to properly explain what i'm thinking.. but for live trading purposes, do the point value of the picks change/improve as earlier picks get eaten up during academy matching?

so like, if three picks are used on one player, do the picks after that immediately improve in point value?

I rewatched his extensive game packages last night and I’m a little more open to it.

As you point out, his kicking depth isn’t great. But probably more inconsistent. He drills a few from around 40-50 that sail over the fence. Unusually he seems to kick it further from a set shot vs on the run.

I hate the way he tries to get too high frees and accentuates contact to the ump. Doubt it will be effective at afl level.

He’s a risk but I think everyone other than Harley Reid is a risk in the 2-7 group.

One thing that stood out to me is his cleanliness with the ball at ground level. We could do with that in our forward line.

Depends, how many picks are used and where. They will move back one to create the new pick. Then it will depend on how many picks are eaten up.

Twomey thinking Dogs still in the box seat for GC Pick 4, but thinks we are going to go hard for Pick 10 once it is traded to GC. Wonder what we would get around that mark.

What makes you think that? I mean, I certainly wouldn't complain if we had the right pick in that scenario but I don't see it.

Looking at the provisoinal order I think the clubs picking will have more of a need for mids and forwards.

The order will change so who knows, but that's my thinking now.

And when I say drops, i just think he'll go after Caddy and Watson

I have always looked at how the media and broader football world talk about us vs how they talk about the other smallish clubs such as W.B, STK, Melb. Those clubs largely avoid the level of vitriol we do, it isn't close either. Even in Melbourne's shit period, there were no real calls to relocate them.

If it's the choice of sitting down, shutting up, 'knowing our place' and playing it safe vs daring to stand up, innovate, make noise about inequality and aggressively try to pursue success I know which option I choose. We're the only one of the small Melbourne clubs that does the latter and for that we will always be in the crosshair.

Finally a good episode. For the first time in a long time Twomey & Beveridge didn't bang on about the same old boring stuff.
Mackie was intersting, he gave Twomey donuts other than they are confident there are good picks at the back end of the draft.
Sounds like we are in the box seat for pick 10. I reckon Watson, O'Sullivan, Sanders, Wilson all around the mark.
