North has two picks inside 3 (or 4 with the not-at-all-draft-manipulation academy bid). In a draft with a consensus #1 but a group of half a dozen very close behind him. People are talking absolute garbage about the “need” to do anything.

Probably irrelevant. But a poster mentioned that Reid is now following Ben Cousins and Oscar Allen.

No question - CZ will be in exactly the same boat as BMac.

If we think we can get a pick in the first 5 for him then we would have to do it.

Salary caps have risen alot and the AFL is looking to scale back first round picks for losing players - however if it's a likely chance then we would have to go through the process. That means no extension for CZ - if any - until well into 2024.

He may yet be a flight risk, but I can’t see the market for tween sized forwards getting as heated as it has been for 200cm KPDs this year. I could also see TT commanding a band one salary. But Cam would have to have the mother of all seasons for us to get a top 5 pick. Surely, in the event he flies the coop, end of round one compo would be more likely.

Gee you low life losers need to keep it in your pants! Don't attack the Nostradamus and myself or else. Don't wanna see anymore of it or i'll call the top dog himself GiantRoo and we'll torment ya.

I gave you lot the greatest scoop in NM history so bow down and pray that when the great Nostradamus returns he spares you all...
til next time
Disciple out....

Draft Watto the wee Wizard with pick 2!! Trade 17 and 18 for pick 8.

It’s always a treat when Nostrils is off line, isn’t it .

Is Duursma likely to be a pure forward or forward/ mid? I’m trying to think of a pure HFF currently playing who’s worthy of a top 5 pick.

If he projects to be a cat like his brother, then certainly not.

If the reports of Santa delivering us ‘Big Game’ Zane in a couple of weeks then I’ll be one happy kid at Xmas.

I’ve raved on a bit about him already, but at nearly 6’3 in the old scale he glides across the ground, has incredible hands both sides of his body, clunks the pill with one grab and kicks goals for fun.

He’s going to be a friggin powerful unit when he fills out and is in a professional system. I can see Clarko sending him to the backline to do his apprenticeship also.

Why have one Sheezel when we can have two?..

Mick Ablett's juvenile taunts that we have to trade away all of these picks for pick 1 in order to draw a line in the sand and prove that we are fair dinkum (seriously? ****'s sake!) is such a schoolyard mentality. I suspect he has been spending far too long hanging around schoolboys and his brain is degenerating to that level.

Yes agree end of first round is more likely for CZ all things considered - however stranger things have happened in the FA market.

The early season progress of Ford, George and presumably Duursma will come into play as well as to whether we feel it urgent to resign CZ - in addition to whether we think we can attract a legitimate 2nd tall forward to support Larkey.

This is something to watch as the season unfolds.

I have always had a soft spot for Zurhaar because I think he exudes the Shinboner spirit even when we have looked and been absolutely shite. He offers an important point of difference to his rivals for a position in the forward line. His physicality and sometimes ferocious attack on the ball is something we need and is something a good small crumbing forward (if we had one) could greatly benefit from. He has also demonstrated his ability to hit the scoreboard by kicking a number of bags when we've had trouble getting the ball into our F50. Clarko has also tried to increase his versatility by giving him stints in the centre square, which also has to be taken into consideration. I think Zurhaar will be valuable to us no matter how well some of the other players do.

Are there similarities to Xavier including when Xavier was a junior or are they completely different prospects?

Different prospects, Xavier was very much a full time midfielder who was a little bit on the softer side, but he didn't have the skill set, class, decision making or marking ability of his brother Zane.

20 goals @ 1.3 a game isn't a great outcome, his 34 @ 1.8 last year was closer to the mark, he really needs to be in th 40+ category imo given we have no secondary KPP so he is more of a go-to target than medium forwards normally are. I know he was used in the midfield a lot more this year but it hampered our ability to put a score on the board.

Awoke to the dulcet tones of 'Goss' on SEN Perth, interviewing Dan Curtin and his manager.

'Would picks 2 & 3 get it done?' asked Goss, about the Eagles giving up pick #1. DC's manager said that wasn't going to happen, even when Goss asked another 2 or 3 times.

He did say, however, that he believed Dan was the generational talent of the draft, and that if he was WC he would take Curtin at #1.

Dan is not the most articulate bloke going around. 'Happy to go anywhere. Composure and versatility his strengths. Barracks for Freo. Can't wait to get stuck in and earn his place in his new team.'
