How many that you would consider a genuine backup would you say have had prolonged success so far though?

I think it's too early to go on Flacco. Dobbs had his couple of weeks. But backup guys win games all the time.

I think it's unfair to call Minshew a backup by the way, he was kind of shipped off when he was producing fairly well in Jacksonville and now has shown he can start in the league.

I'm not saying any of them can become full time starters, just that they have been impressive. In the old days you wouldn't get someone like Browning throwing for 300 yards every week after a teams franchise QB goes down.

I think he is too good to be a back up but as a starter he is nothing more than a stop gap and you wouldn't fear playing against him in the playoffs.

He is ideal for our current situation though, get the wins and build the confidence in the roster for when Richardson returns.

30 years ago, the league awarded expansion franchises to Carolina & Jacksonville.

Carolina has empty stadium issues and Jacksonville plays games in the UK due to lack of fan support….

The overlooked bidders were St Louis & Baltimore. St Louis ended up having the Rams for a while but they are now in LA.

Baltimore…. Well Baltimore ended up taking the then Browns from Cleveland and repeatedly breaking the heart of AmericanCrow
The Browns were resurrected and still act like a directionless zombie. Flailing from one GM & HC to the next.

Meanwhile the Ravens got 2 Super Bowls. Now the Lamar Jackson era may lead to more….

Crazy, Pickens didnt block for Warren coz he didnt want to risk getting injured, no wonder the team is losing games like they have over the past 3 weeks when you have players looking out for themselves.

Gotta crawl before you can walk, son. Lets see if Lamar can finally play well in a playoff game for the first time in his career this year before you start talking superbowls. :)

He'd never get a game at the 49ers with that approach, you don't block, you don't play.

Can easily see Pickens flaming out like the many talented idiot Steeler WRs before him.

Which team will trade for him and regret it this time? (probably the Panthers :( )

Hope the Rams. Got a feeling the Saints will tho .
I'm almost certain the Rams will win. They've been under the radar - but remind me a lot of the 49ers 2021 that had to win a bunch of games at the end of the year just to get in to the playoffs.

Both teams were 3-5, and we needed to beat the Rams in week 18 to make it, and the loss cost them the 1 seed (we play them in week 18 this year too).

A good experienced core with Stafford playing well, Kupp getting some new WR friends and Williams tearing up yards in the run game. Plus any D with Donald can be a game changer.

He played well against the Titans 10/1/2021. Coming back from 10 down in the first quarter to win on the road. 136 yards rushing, including a 48yd TD.

Last two years got ruined by injury, so 2021 was his last playoff campaign.

This team is much better than that team.

Defense won you that game. That's why you didn't include his passing stats coz they were unimpressive.

You had the best team when the Titans beat you in 2020 and that meant nothing..
