At this present time where the club is at in relation to our player depth and enthusiasm towards our 2023 season. Zorko has been fantastic as an inspirational leader. If fully fit still a great asset to our team. The talk is who will be our next Captain and Vice ??. I hope our next captain is again inspirational who inspire players to lift when the opposition applies pressure. He must have leadership abilities, undeniable passion for the game, competitiveness, communication skills, integrity, respect, consistency, be courageous, responsible, be positive and lead by example along being a bloody good player. This position is an honour and hopefully all players respect and trust him as a leader and follow and support him in the battles ahead. Not everyone has these qualities but I can see at least 3 that have leadership qualities.

Hey guys,
Thinking of heading out to springfield this friday. What was the experience like for those that went last week? Can you view the game from anywhere around the oval or are fans confined to certain zones?

Where ever you see fit.

My heart tells me Harris but my head tells me Neal.

He's one player who can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and turn it around.

He does his talking with his boot and is the embodiment of leadership by example (umpire touching aside), the one area Zorko sometimes struggled with.

After listening to the Fagan interview the captain process looks something like this:

Players and coaches vote on leadership group.
From that vote you get the leadership group.
Fagan then askes the leadership group of players who is interested in being captain.
If more than one seeks the captaincy, Fagan (and possibly others) interview those players.
After interviews a captain will be chosen.
Mentioned the process should be concluded by the Cats game.

Interestingly Fagan mentioned Dunkley (age 26) and Gunston (age 31)

If we hadn't picked up Dunkley in the off season, I would have been against Neale as captain, but I think the change in midfield dynamic will give him the ability to play a different role.

I like Clugga over Harris, mainly based on level-headedness on the field, and I just feel a midfield captain presents a better onfield presence.

He also mentioned that he wouldn’t be against a dual captaincy set up.

Our captain/s for the 2023 premiership season will be:

EVERYONE 🥳

So Excited Reaction GIF

I do hope Lachie says yes. Hugh needs a coupla more years. Harro has enough with his own game & running the backline.

Or do it like school footy. Every one gets a turn. - see above.

Player voting will be either tomorrow or Friday. After that, the serious stuff regarding the Captaincy will begin & end pretty quick I believe.

There is only one and best option: (ONE) CAPTAIN

(ONE) VICE CAPTAIN

(Selected) Leadership Group

Going with this policy eliminates disunion, etc. in the team and club.

Once you are there no problems. Getting there at that time of the day is the issue. Have never seen a suburb let down by lack of infrastructure as this one. My advice would be to catch the train from Indooroopilly if you are coming in from the city.

There's actually been no indication from Lachie that he ever wanted to be Captain either at Fremantle or here whereas Harris has taken on official leadership roles from a young age and I thought it was fairly telling Fagan making a point that once the leadership group was decided upon the pivotal question is who wants to be Captain. Did he not say something along the lines that if only one person puts their hand up that's it ?

So what are the chances of three Captains following Fages interview? Harris for the backs......Neale/McClug/Berry/Dunks for the onballers and Gunston for the forwards?

Once all the road works in the area are finished it will be better.

Travelling last Friday to the game everything was going fine until the Google Maps lady stated a traffic accident ahead.
From then on it was a crawl.
Any traffic accident on major roads in Brisbane will cause issues.

I am not a local so can't comment on the usual peak traffic time issues for Springfield.
The Thursday 7.10pm Cats game will test things out a bit.

Chris Fagan mentioned Berry should play in Fridays sim. He mentioned Brain will also play on Friday.
Jarrod Lyons played last Friday.
