Have never seen a suburb let down by lack of infrastructure as this one.
At least there's a train - head out to some of the other outer suburbs like Yarrabilba and it's so much worse of a complete mess, no mass transit, single lane in and out.

Once you are there no problems. Getting there at that time of the day is the issue. Have never seen a suburb let down by lack of infrastructure as this one. My advice would be to catch the train from Indooroopilly if you are coming in from the city.

like it is easy to get to the Gabba or anywhere around Brisbane at that time of day. Never seen a capital City let down by a lack of infrastructure as this one.;)

My daughter lived at Yarrabilba for a little while, absolute dive of an area, crime and drug ridden as well... thank god she moved out and is living in a more hospitable area now.

Link to the proposed Springfield major road projects. Map stages 1- 3
The project completion date was to be middle of 2021. So, way behind schedule.
The other link is dated Jan 2022 which is when stage 1 actually started.
They are still working on stage 1 & 3 (Lions' section). I have not travelled on stage 2 so can't comment on that one.
The main road to Springfield the Centenary Highway still needs an extra lane between exit 31 & 32 (only one lane).
I am sure it is planned but can't find anything.
Looks like they are working on the one lane issue (Camira/Carole Park/ Forest Lake) heading into Brisbane first.

Reckon 4:30 intraclub tomorrow will actually start at 430? Thinking of heading in but wouldn't be able to get there till close to 5 so not sure how worthwhile it would be.
Did last week. Went to about 6:15

Look at it this way.
Apart from last Friday the previous sims were only 3 x 15 minutes.
You should get to see 3 x 24 minutes tomorrow.
My old email indicated the start time is 4.00pm

Then of course the Footy Gods could go against you, and it actually starts on time for a change.
If that happens there is always the bar if you were coming by train.

Starting to lean towards co captains. Harris and one of Neale or Clug

Can't recall who it was but heard a former captain recently talking about how much of a burden all the off field stuff is. Media appearances, etc.

And meetings, player welfare, emails, planning, decision making - it’s basically a pseudo admin role these days.

Last week was 4 quarters x about 25 mins, so expecting similar tomorrow.
My 3 x 24 minutes was taking into consideration Nunez would not arrive till around 5pm and the 4pm start was delayed to 4.30 pm
So, he may get to see 3 quarters of footy if he is lucky.

There's actually been no indication from Lachie that he ever wanted to be Captain either at Fremantle or here whereas Harris has taken on official leadership roles from a young age and I thought it was fairly telling Fagan making a point that once the leadership group was decided upon the pivotal question is who wants to be Captain. Did he not say something along the lines that if only one person puts their hand up that's it ?
This is going to be a tough decision, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious stand out captain like in past years. Not sure that Lachie should be taking on extra pressure,he has enough on him already. And I don’t think Andrews would be the answer either,he really needs to concentrate on his own game and look after the back line. McCluggage doesn’t seem to be ready yet, very quiet and reserved. Lyons seems like a good leader but now he isn’t even a sure bet for the 22. Maybe it might be someone out of left field,I wonder how big O would go? He certainly bleeds for the club and is in and around the midfield which I think is a big plus. Not sure how he would cope with the media etc but could be an outside chance I reckon.

Personally, if we are going down the future leader route now, it would Berry or Robertson as both of them have been successful underage captains for their local club and state. However, both have inconsistent patches in their game atm and Robertson struggles to even break into the AFL side in the first place.

Maybe Dunkley could be a shock selection even though he has only been at the club for less than 2 secs, but Ashcroft is definitely gotta be the long term option for us in the future.

Interesting, how about we just have the 2023 premiership already as well ;)
I mean we really just want a clear leader for the group, I just think its a bit strange that as they are entering a premiership tilt year that we don't really know who that is.

I would have preferred that it was all done in house, Zorko steps down and the new Captain is announced all in one go, and we set about steeling the group for the year ahead. It feels a bit participation ribboney

Late to the party but I have full faith in Andrews taking on the role. I love Lachie and Hugh as players and men but there's more to being a captain or leader than performance onfield.

As an aside for those that are concerned about Harris being a defender taking on the role. Between 07 and 18 nine out of twelve premiership captains were defenders.

I take a slightly different view in that I actually think we are a bit devoid of genuine leadership options when assessing the next captain options.

Compared to say a Geelong who I think have 6-7 guys who would be ahead of Harris (our club house leader) if you were to pick an ideal candidate from both lists.

Harris and Lachie - both great options but not without some question marks.

Dunkley has leadship qualities.

Lyons could skipper IMO but might not even be playing ones.

Joe, Richy, Linc, Dizzy, Charlie etc - I think we agree are not captain options.

Then you get into future leader prospects, which seem ok, Bez, clug, starc etc.

It’s not a major criticism or concern, just has been an interesting excercise in seeing that whilst we have a good list - IMO, we lack natural, highlevel leaders in our ranks.

When assessing you might argue this could contribute to our not being quite ready yet when our in the finals pressure cooker.

Look at our 01-04 team there are 10 blokes who you could raffle being a perfect skipper option at any time.

Hopefully an area we continue to cultivate with our emerging group.

Disagree. I can name 6 players at least who are captain material right now. It's an appointment that is not to be taken lightly hence why they will do their homework and hopefully chose the best candidate to officially lead us into season 2023. Not only are their plenty of leaders to chose the captaincy, there are just as many who lead on the field as well. We are well stocked with quality people in our player ranks who are very good leaders.

You're right in that it would be tidy to do it that way but the way it has been done is more about respect for Zorko than anything. In public relations terminology they are giving him some 'clear air' a bit of time for the media to discuss Zorko's career and contribution to the club rather than that being diluted by the new captain's career and the contribution they will make. There is nothing sinister, just respect, i'd be surprised if they don't already know who it will be as there would be briefs to marketing agencies needed to get merchandise and ticketing creative needed for the first round of the season.

Yeah bit over organisations that just go through the motions, its the fact that its a premiership tilt year, starting behind the pack if you dont know who your leader is. They are doing match sim, that leader should be obvious and already be directing on the field towards that goal. In my opinion, its sub-optimal

Captain, Vice Captain and the Leadership Group is never announced before this time of the year.
Generally we find out not too long after the team photo day.
Don’t know why this year should be any different just because the current Captain has stood down.
