granted, it was modern history and I'd already done all the work and we had a sub, but VC has to set the example I guess
And the punishment was for the teacher to put the match up on the big screen for all the students to watch :D

Not really a personal punishment for you though, just for the rest of the class to follow the Lions :p

Every time I mention the footy in class everyone collectively groans.

This website is the only thing that keeps me sane during school time. That thread on dusty being the goat has kept me occupied for weeks.

Used to be me back in the day as well, glad you found this website to keep you occupied while school drags on :thumbsu: :smallfooty:

Of course.

For players of their talent knowing how and when to defend shouldn't be too difficult.
Mhm, don’t think our players knew exactly how to defend properly last year though

Already been said but a big thank you to all who commented during the game ... so very much appreciated (and it didn't have the flavour of a standard game-day thread which was ... pleasent ;) )

btw I hope we do develop a killer instinct this year ... not only is it good for percentage and thus ladder position but it also might gain us some mental ascendency over other teams who, atm, could legitimately feel that if they just hang in there we will let them come back...

Well let's look at them .Rich was done physically, Gardiner was busted up ,Andrews was half busted up and frustrated ,Adams was good when he was out there which wasn't often enough. Payne was just learning and had injury issues Answerth can defend but not much use if you keep coughing it up when you get it , Starc is a great defender , Kiddy hmmm but he's learning , plus we had noone running back to help out except Neale who was probably exhausted from all the other work he did and Berry occasionally who does know how to defend but didn't get back often enough and our rucks who were too slow to get back mostly ( with due respect to them ), but compare them to the Geelong on ballers who did a lot of work behind the ball.

So all in all we did a great job to win 2 finals and this year with the change in personnel and a fully fit contingent with an injection of pace to rebound quicker it should be a lot easier to defend when they have to. It also looks like we might try to play wingers who can run so that should help as well.

Well I'm hoping it all makes a difference.

Great post 👍

Totally understand what your meaning and more appreciate that we won 2 finals last year as well :)

Just finished watching a replay.

Ashcroft a shoe in for the rising star, Norm Smith double.
Kiddy Coleman is as smooth as silk.
Gunston will be terrific for our forward potency, which was bloody good already.
I thought Payne was quite good and should be a lock for round 1.
Loved Rayner in defence.
Tunstill and Wilmot looked good on the wings in patches, Sharp looked to have improved a bit.

I'm looking forward to getting out to Springfield Thursday evening to see the guys in the flesh... the camera work was of a low standard today.

Port BF board not happy about the loss to Eagles 83 to 76.
Also, Boak to hospital for scans.

I saw that result but wasn’t sure how much to read into it, interesting nonetheless.

Even more interesting was the Freo vs Adelaide score…

WC draftee Elijah Hewett came on in the last quarter and basically did a Chris Judd on Port. They had no answer to him in the midfield.

Campbell Chesser looked good as well for WC.

Watching the replay now, all I can really take away so far is that it's "free flowing football" - even if the ball is bouncing around in the middle of a ruck of 20 players. Though I guess that is free flowing football for Sydney games.

Have not seen it but apparently Harry Sheezel was pretty good for North as well.

Young Will might have some competition for the Rising Star.

drags on is an understatement

This website is a god send, it's the only footy media besides theroar that has comments and isn't blocked. It's all I've got.
Mate, I get ya. Being in Qld none of my mates are AFL fans, and its only my brother in-law that I can talk footy with but he's a Collingwood supporter so it's pretty one sided.
