Agree at the Gabba Lions are favored and rightly so, very talented team home ground advantage have had a long rest, no traveling, they’ve got it sweet, but that’s on paper only, in reality come game day, things may change end up differently.
This will be another close, strongly contestEd, a real slog.
Go Blues , you’ve done us so proud.
I reckon 45/55 in the lions favour is about rate but AFL media and sports bet have Lions an 80/20 sure bet

Just grabbing my crowbar & heading to their training now..gimme 15 minutes & I'll confirm.
That ice skater girl says hi.
The Frizz is quick off the draw.
And also remembers names way better.🤣😛

No way is the outcome 80/20 Lions favor, nonsense, it will be a lot closer. Not an easy win for either team. Lions are prodigiously talented, have ground advantage, so clearly a competent team.
But they’re carrying burden of expectations and past boo-boos in finals,
they should’ve won, plenty of pressure on them.
Blues have surpassed expectations still active deep into September, they’ve done us very proud indeed.

I think part of the reason for this is our drop in form in last few weeks. We are winning, but not in style. Our connection with the forwards has fallen again. We had TDK win up forward last week for a short period, but aside from that we just don't look as zippy and dangerous as we did 5 or 6 weeks ago. Our backs and mids are doing a good job. We need much improvement up forward this week to stand a chance IMO.

Think we aren’t being tipped at all because of 2 reasons. People hate us, brisbane haven’t lost all year at the Gabba.

Hard to argue against, in my view this is a building year and 2024-2027 is the real flag chances. We are a young side. This was the experience we needed

I think we can win, but won’t be depressed if we don’t. We are back

Just remember to swing from the hips to ensure good contact 😂 if u can also say hello to Dunks & Neale it would be handy 👍
Let me know when I need to post the “Go fund me” for your bail - we have your back 😉

I wonder if Hollands training in the main team was likely just because Doc isn’t in contact training, may well not get up for the game, and Hollands is in the 23 anyway.

I expect Doc is named and Hollands isn’t tonight. If they are both named, a Doc late out for a small forward becomes close to a cert imo.

Doc trained fully

I don't see this drop in form that others do

Back half of the season we won close games against other finalists in Demons, Pies, Saints

Won 2 close finals, 1 of which we lead from the 1st qtr, the other coming from behind twice in the last

You don't get your own way against strong sides, especially in finals

This is true.
However we didn't really have a winning forward last week. Somehow we still won. Not only did we not have a winning forward, but we struggled to get the ball to ground.
I think our mids and backs are maintaining their performance. We really need Curnow, Martin and Harry to hold their own and at a minimum bring the ball to ground and keep it in our arc. Last 2 weeks Curnow has been beaten by opponents who have taken too many marks. Its not all down to Curnow, but he somehow needs to at least break-even in contests

Message that Marchbank Cincotta are sore and may be a late test if selected
2 defenders in doubt this week as opposed to 2 forwards last game?
Boyd and Doc down back a possibility? Might mean more than 2 changes?

How wonderful if those 3 can conjure some magic.

This has been a crazy week for team selections lol

Can't tell if Boyd is a surprise in for a tall, or just the Cincotta replacement

Surprisingly I’d trust his mail, his dad was a bloody good reporter back in the day & I’m sure his old man would help with some useful tid bits to help garner a solid reputation.
A lot of good info would just gravitate to Eddie

Both the Swans and Demons play that style, extra numbers behind the ball, intercept, rebound

I agree we need to work harder to bring the ball to ground, best way is to work hard to retain the front position in all contests
