Following the topic and its theme as near to completely as I am able to, I rate your team a solid 8.779/10.
McLean will get very lonely on the HF flank and on the sub. bench and both rucks trigger me, but really like it other wise.

i dont agree. hes gonna be tough to bring in structure wise if he starts off with a 90 avg. an 80 avg will make 150k which i think is all but guaranteed with culley. cant see him averaging any less
He's certainly getting talked up big time by players and coach. I'll watch, but I'll remain suss at this stage

i just love his mentality. and for others to be coming out saying his passion is infectious. makes me think if he performs, will become a pivotal point in a new eagles midfield.

Mr 'nooks and I shall take the risk for the team. I am going even a step further and leaving out Hamstrings Hopper altogether.

I have Culley, Bowes and Windhager, and even tho I can logically justify their selections, I’ll still be watching each of them very closely during the practice games. Happy to change all for a fallen premo and rookies if they don’t perform as advertised.
would love to see some reports on bowes..

I can all but guarantee, that maybe 15 of the current 30 in my carefully squeezed, lovingly basted 876 iterations to date will be there, come round one.

First Team we've seen with Ridley .....good reports from the Sim match today too

Two issues to fix. All ex-ridleyites in here will confirm both.
1. His huge scores for a 4-6 week period included kick ins. Dons worked out they were struggling when he did the kick ins and took them off him. They were instantly better. That isnt about to change.
2. He cannot play 2 halves of footy. Regulalry sits on 60 at halftime and finishes on 85-90.

Huge pass....UNLESS they have fixed his kicking in issues. Needs to be low $400K to consider as any sort of value.

I brought in Culley and Windhager last night. Tonight they're gone and I've said FcK the RcKs!

Question - will the new sub rule have that much of an effect?

Almost every coach was flaunting the rules last year anyway. So what’s the diff and concerns on rookies being subbed more this year compared to last year?

I think the only key difference will be that it will happen, on both sides, in virtually every game, for various reasons - tactical, injury, resting guns when it is done, so the risk is evenly spread among squad types, mostly.

There are many players this year with multiple pre-seasons, between 160/230K, that have obvious roles earmarked.

It makes more sense to me to select them wherever I can, instead of relying on high priced rookies* ( Phillipou/McKenzie types) or players that have utility, but are not necessarily in the best 22 week in/week out ( Mclean sorts), all of which have an extra likelihood of being assigned the vest.

*Washcroft being the exception.

I'm hearing that it won't even be a sub.

Five man bench, all of whom can be used throughout the game.

They're going to trial it in the preseason games and then probably do it in the actual AFL season.

That's what birdies have told me anyway

Thats a pretty solid team mate.
It's all just shits n giggles at this point. We all make 5 changes after every preseason game anyway. Only 100% locks are Sicily, Dunkley, and Jackson Macrae.

Wouldn't mind another couple of cheap mid rookies to appear.
