Like Kemp and TDK in

Hate that Dow didn't get a game. Poor bugger should ask for a mid season trade.

Hate hate hate that Voss gave McGovern a hall pass. Apparently squibing contests is something that is now accepted in the team.

Outs don't faze me.

Hate seeing Jones kill it at the dogs. We stuffed up big time not putting him on the inactive list. Weiters misses him so much. Said it before but we would have played finals last year if we had jones ... but that's for another thread

It was either young or gov, so surely gov is on notice

Dow not even an emergency anymore... Its over for him at Carlton.

Hope he smashes it at his new home next year.

I wonder if JSOS will look around also
Surely... surely the players aren't happy. Dow is well liked and the MC continue to balls up and not reward. They let Cripps run at a snails pace and have his opponents run past him weekly in front of their eyes and they play favourites with selection without keeping an eye on our future.

intriguing watching the first embryonic planning stages of a smug "I told you so"...you're less interested in dow doing well than carlton looking bad.....nice work

I predict some Dow fans to go and support the club he ends up at, kinda like casual fans who support the club of wherever their favourite NBA star is.

When has Dow ever run past and or kept up with his VFL opponent?

What the match committee are doing to Dow is just wrong …
Really really wrong !!!
There’s a stench surrounding this and all involved should be ashamed of themselves.
So much for a fair and even go at Carlton …
The unholy alliance must be back

So half hearted efforts and mediocrity continue to be tolerated. Same old.

Dow's workplace bullying claim continues to grow legs.
No way do they get tolerated!!!!
I give you Exhibit A...Paddy Dow...bloody keep him in the VFL and throw away the keys ;)

*** Trigger warning***Dow’s another Nick Graham. Great VFL player average at the top level. He’s had plenty of chances over the years and is behind Cripps, Kennedy & George. Who out of those 3 does he start over? None. What’s the point of making him an emergency if you’re not going to play him? Everyone carrying on needs to chill. He’s done that’s it. Getting 41 touches in the 2s doesn’t make him the next Gary Ablett Jnr. He’s limited at AFL level.
Edit * trust me I’d love him to be given the chance to prove me wrong but I can’t see it

He might get a chance, and if/when he does hope he goes well.

Thing he’s doing differently this year in the vfl is his numbers seem to have gone up from last year, he was rarely getting over 30 last year or years previous.

That was the issue with him in the AFL, he had his best half of footy at AFL level v Freo at the mcg in 2021, but faded after half time. I don’t think he’s ever got 25 touches at afl level, or if he has it’s like only once.

The higher numbers in the vfl do bode well.

Lets all settle down and enjoy another big win against Sydney.
Then resume this conversation next Thursday night.

Mate like I said I’d love to see him come in and murder it in the ones but given his limitations at the level and the fact his contracts up this year and he’s a 1 position player I don’t think he’s gonna get there with us.

I fully agree, he is doing things better at vfl level than he has in the past though.

In saying that, I don’t think he would go any better than Cripps, Hewett or Kennedy. Put any of those 3 in Dow’s role in the vfl and they would get 35-40 every week.

Add to that we haven’t even been playing hewett and kennedy in the same side each week, so Dow unfortunately offers us more of the same.

People are seduced by his burst from stoppages which you see maybe once a game which makes people think he is the 2nd coming of Chris Judd.

If he goes elsewhere he will only get regular games at a bottom 3 side. Not even sure he’d be automatic at Hawthorn or North, he would be at west coast.

McGovern still in?

Welp guess you can be as soft as you like and no one cares at Carlton. I was willing to buy into all the talk but no defence is worth a damn when you are relying on marshmelllow men.

Unfortunately for this week at least he’ll have to do as it was probably down to either him or Plowman but you’d imagine he is on notice with Marchbank a genuine alternative.

Footsteps McLovin aside the ins and outs seem around right.

I whole heartedly agree with all the posts saying:
A) you have to change something when the thing ain’t working
B) his VFL form is too unreal to ignore
C) even those posts saying he is nothing more than a vfl player, our firsts are putting out sub-AFL standards of footy and effort

At a personal level you have to feel for him.
Who said we’d get more out of Kennedy forward and Dow midfield vs some of our forward choices? No doubt about it.
