Not sure who comes out this week and for once, I don't really care as I have faith the 23 we select will get the job done.

I think Harry will come in but not sure who comes out as a result. We may rest Doc if he's ginger and could be as simple as Harry for Doc.

Think the likes of Jack and Boyd will have to bide their time as we back in the group who've been getting it done.

All I know is that there's going to be some very stiff players missing out come Round 24 and finals.

Only 'auto-selections' in my mind who didn't play in Round 22 are: Harry, Walsh, Cerra and Gov.

I love the analogy of how Montagna describes our fringe players:

Worker bees

Perfect.

Nah, bees are naturally docile, placid & only sting once.
Our pressure has been more like pissed off wasps! Swarming, dangerously aggressive & stinging repeatedly just cause they can!

Does anyone subscribe to that we need to lose a game before finals?(if we get there).

I’m saying NO

Nope. We run the table.

How often do our wingers appear in the defensive goal square to save the day? Remarkable

Acres has been super lately, do we bring him in for more centre bounces and unleash Binns or Boyd as a wing option? He loves a contest and a brilliant extractor recently. Curious to get thoughts on this.
Yes Acres’ value underestimated.
Reckon he could provide great value as an extra midfielder (as per above)…. However reluctant to change his multifaceted wing contributions

Friends, what is the best way to get to the ground? I can see online that there's no parking available. We'll have 4 adults, 2 x 5 year olds and 2 x 3 year olds so an Uber or cab is out of the question.
Uber convoy, or source the best ride-share deal/s you can find. New signups etc (if still a thing). E.g. Didi was offering 40% off for rides.

He has been great in the winning run. It was good to see him get his weekly OOTF out of the way in the first minute of the game.

Really happy for the QLD Blues up there going to the game and hopefully celebrating what would be our finals clinching win !

Queensland has not been a happy hunting ground for us over the years, would be nice for our Brizzle/Queensland based Blue Baggers to celebrate like it was 1999 (prelim)

:)

Anyhow here flying up ? (Lucky you) !

Interesting question.

Touk has tagged most weeks since return.

Neale, Gulden etc.

Who does he try and go against us.

Cripps?

I reckon he'll go head to head with Hewett.

Rowell will go to Cripps.

Anderson will try and play off Dow.

Something along those lines, anyway.

For a side that's been dominant all year, I think it can be valuable. Collingwood, Port, even Melbourne to an extent. When they've spent most of the year up the top of the ladder, a reality check/wake up call a month out from finals can be a catalyst for improved performance, and a guard against complacency.

For a side like us - started OK, fell in a heap, then found our groove....and a side that hasn't tasted finals in a long while....you just want the momentum to keep going. No room for self-doubt. The stars are aligning, we're doing the right things, just keep fighting for every disputed ball and trust that we can go deep int September or even skittle the favourites on our way to an underdog's flag.

A lot of talk about is being better without McKay are rubbish.

When we changed we were winning big with him and he was playing well.

Without him we have been winning but the countless moments in games where Curnow has been double and triple teamed and we had no one to dump the ball long to are the moments we miss him.

I think we bring him back and those issues go away.

I think we play them close together, put pressure on the defenders when we are playing well and really working on spreading those defenders and getting back to creating one on ones. When we are under the pump one comes up the field, gets up on the wings and we have that CHF dump kick option while maintaining a tall forward of that as well.

I just find it really hard to get our forward line structure down pat with so many in form.

Do we stick with two genuine rucks, do we drop one for Silvagni, do we try McKay as forward ruck and rotate him with DeKoning all day? Two of those options have worked plus everything "change" has been good for us lately.

This should be a big big win against GCS. Back against the team where it all started for us.

No Cerra, Walsh or McGovern. I bet had we lost to Melbourne and/or St Kilda they would play. This should open people's eyes up to why we have had this big injury problem. Difference between winning and being comfortable to losing and being under pressure.

My guess would be that McGovern, Kennedy, Walsh and Cerra could play this week if need be. If it was an elimination final they would. Would be feeling good but still in that period where it's still a re-injury risk. Previous years, this time of the year where we are a chance of making finals they would 100% be playing and some would not be making it through the game. At a guess I reckon Docherty will miss this one. He's got that cork, he's had a massive month playing midfield at a high intensity.

We have our best 22 and finals team to play GWS in the last round and just look to build form and keep things rolling.

We do need to keep winning though, it's good form and keeping us hungry. Top 4 is still a slim chance as well.
