Josh Schache is a shocking player.

Funny going back to the experts suggesting SOS should take him over Weitering due to being a KPF.

To do the double over them even though we were underdogs in both is a testament to how strong our squad is now.
It's not just the wins, the VFL team is actually good to watch right now and you can see under Power, that they're playing a style that is AFL ready.

Players are actually improving in the reserves, something we never had with the Preston alignment

Good to see the reserves playing well -- was telling last night in dow interview he acknowledge how coaches had worked on his game at reserve level and he was happy he had been able to bring it to the higher level .. people might say reserve isn't indication of being good enough for AFL - this may be true but it is a good place to work on habits that transcend into the upper level - habits if repeated become second nature ..

I saw on tv last night Ed Russell Voss standing in corner having a laugh I wonder if they were saying you have two option run laps tonight or play tomorrow 😀

This was a big win. Built on work rate, decision making with dare and contributions across the board. The Demons had us covered in terms of experience which made the win even better. Our AFL listed players like Carroll and Boyd were among the best. The VFL listed small forwards like Cahill and Ronke kicked crucial goals. Casey Demons have given us some horrible beatings over the years so I enjoyed this one. Great weekend for the club.

Hudson O'Keeffe really intrigues me. A player to watch and monitor in our VFL program over the next 2 years.

I reckon we made the right call adding him to our list late over Markov tbh..

I don’t think it was the experts suggesting that but I do remember some people on here doing so. Theory was that you Get the gun forward with Schache early and team them up with Collins later on so you get one at both ends of the ground.
Instead we decided to take Weitering and get the two key forwards later in the draft in Curnow and McKay. It’s a tough one but I think it worked out ok for us.

In saying that I don’t think the theory they had was wrong it’s just that picking the talent is so much more important then any theory about building a list.

Wouldn't be against giving McMahon a contract
It's an interesting one. No doubt we got him over to have a look at him, and has been pretty impressive at times during the year. He's a classic swingman, but we're playing him as a key forward at the moment, probably because we only have Lem as the other option - and we have a couple of AFL listed KPD's down back in Nigel and Young - although if we were to offer McMahon a contract, it would be more for a key defensive role.

Having said all that crap, 200cm athletic footballers are in pretty high demand....although you could see today that he got monstered by Tomlinson, so would need to put on a fair bit of size to compete at the top level. Just turned 21yo so still has time - but he seems to be one of those classic mid season draft options.

Has a crack in a Matthew Kruezer kind of way … definitely worth persevering with.

He has sticky hands and takes it at the highest point. Great versatility forward and back. Also not afraid to chop out in the ruck.

He still needs to add a fair bit of muscle and at this point of his career he probably needs to be in an AFL environment to properly do that. If we do move on from Durdin (I wouldn't) he seems like a logical replacement.
