There's a spot for him though. Acres (outside) and Mundy (inside) gone. O'Meara has been poor and is holding on to his spot by a thread. Brayshaw is carrying an injury. Everybody else is out of form. If he does well, he could play every game.


van Rooyen vs Johnson vs Young is going to kill me all day.


I reckon van Rooyen either gets 10 hitouts, 6-8 tackles and scores 80+, or kicks zero goals, zero tackles and scores 20-40, and is dropped next week. I just can't see an in-between in a wet slog.

6 tackles against Sydney was impressive, but he had 0 against the Eagles. You assume his ruck time increases slightly this week with one of Petty and TMac playing down back, but rucking against Ladhams/Amartey and Williams/Waterman is easier than Draper/Phillips, who are a lot more physical and seasoned.

He had 2 kick-ins last week too.

Constable among the emergencies so maybe he gets back in. Davey should be back next week. Probably hold, that trade will be useful when upgrading in a few weeks.

Sicily BE of 145 while averaging 99.5

While I think he’s an obvious target for a finished backline, now is not the time to be burning cash and trades for him.

Should be able to get him sub 550, and potentially around the 525 mark which is 100k off his starting price, in the next couple of weeks.

Keep the extra trade, take Dale who is bottom of his price (for now), and target Sicily in 2 weeks I say.

I'm not keen to be holding 2 rookies not playing and others like Cowan going nowhere for cash gen heading into upgrade season. Will prob concede and move him on, he doesn't look to have the role to get a spike game

Given we can move Sheezel to defence next week it's not such a big problem to hide Ginbey on the mid bench for a week. A week off might actually be a good thing, improve his scoring and delay needing to trade him (can only trade out so many rookies at once)

Yep the JZ / Sheez flex helps, but a few will need to be cashed in over the next 2 weeks to facilitate the upgrades for Cogs / Day / Laird / Sic etc. Cowan on the shortlist for me along with Baker if he goes poorly again

Interesting watch on Seamus Mitchell at the selection table tonight. Recruited as a pacey forward flanker then moved down back.

Regularly getting a lot of the ball in the VFL. Was a second round draft pick back in 2020 who then had his entire first year wiped out due to injury.

Hopefully gets a debut this season (potentially this Sunday) to show the obvious natural talent that he's got.

Yea not 100% sure that Davey gets back in easily. Hobbs and Snelling been good in the VFL.

Even if I go Dale over Sicily, the extra cash this week will go a long way to getting cogs in the next 2 weeks.
