Not keepers so you trade them in knowing you need to trade them out. Both projected to increase by $50k. You could definitely consider getting at least one of them with 18 trades left, depending on your premo injury status

Yeah, there's cases where it might make sense, bye clearqnce and cash gen considerations, n trades left etc., hard to wrap a bow around it and say if you divide the length of you uncle's next door neighbour's old fella divided by the number of carrot tops in Greensborough and it's less than 15, bring 'em in, greater than 15, give 'em a swerve, that type of thing.
Depends if you feel it in your waters.

Really hoping my strategy of ensuring I have lots of bench players playing through the byes comes home strong.

Only had Cincotta and Madden not play last weekend. I’ve used some trades on getting rid of dead wood (constable, Cowan, young, Roberts and Sturt) to keep cash gen flowing.

Still 6 rookies on field (wilmot, smitch, Ashcroft, Humphrey, Simpson and sheezel)

18 trades , 0 boosts left. 20k

Most likely hold fire on trades this weekend, hope cash gen keeps going so I can continue to trade in top players across the lines to bring it home strong over teams going the value picks.

If you do grab one of them just be prepared for the rookie yoyo. Good one week, average the next. The number of wonderful kents on here that had them on the bench last week and will switch them to on field this week...and the melts if they spud up

Interesting one, could you condone getting off Sheezel a touch early if you reckon the move up the ground might cap his ceiling a touch and slingshot on / before his bye?
Or do we.just run him and hope he doesn't break and keep the trade up the sleeve?

I'm with you, if you can upgrade, go for it. You just gotta be mindful of who you bring in, so you don't decimate a bye round.

I've never understood the logic about not trading in a player with the R12 bye in R11. If you are upgrading this week, whichever premo you trade in will play 4 of the next 5 games irrespective of when their bye is.

I think you should just pick the best one for your team based on which bye round you are best set up for. For me, that is R12 and I was considering going Oliver/Samson Ryan to Brayshaw and Neale. I've since changed to Sicily and one of the mids, but don't think there is any logic to it other than it doesn't feel good.

As a one off trade (not getting Clarry back) you could justify it as per your example above, given you've gained 150 points. But the moment you then use a second trade to trade Oliver back in that's where you're in deficit IMO as those two trades would be worth 75 points each. Wouldn't be worth it then, as it's akin to peeps who traded in a NPP in order to loop Sheezel's 114 off the bench early days (difference of 54-64 points on rookie who scored 50-60).

Looking at it from another perspective; 150 points gained spread out for the remaining 9 rounds of the season (post-byes when Oliver returns at latest) that's 16.6 points a round you need to make up to bridge the gap if you've instead held Oliver.

Can straight swap to Sinclair, Sicily or Steele.
Leaning towards Steele, but it’s line ball between the three.

Obviously depends on your team. Most seem to be ok for defenders so I’d say Steele but that’s based on my needs.

Yeah. He's doing well and could stay there if Laverde wasn't ready for selection. He might play one more week if they want to be careful with Laverde but I can't see both of them playing in defence.
Plus he's an expensive rookie. If you're gonna grab Wardlaw (expensive) then maybe a cheaper option is better for the other rookie grab
