Trades 2023 Round 12 trades - Bye's Week 1

Thinking of upgrading to Rowell. Am stacked for his bye week already and he'll be useful this week and also R14 and R15 when my cupboard is bare

Wish I upgraded to Rowell a few rounds ago instead of Anderson, Anderson hasn't scored a ton since I've had him and Rowell has scored a 165 and 159.

Tempted to trade Anderson to Rowell but that's a luxury sideways trade I don't think I can afford when I'm already down to 13 trades.

Early stages:

-Ashcroft to Briggs (via DPP wizardry)
-Sharp/Roberts to Ford
$208.9k/$195.6k in the bank

Unfortunately it means I can't single trade upgrade next week, so I'm going to have to find a 1 up/1 down from somewhere

I'm hoping to have 19 players (Oliver, Chesser and Constable on the bench, expecting none of them to play), but if Laird gets suspended and Seamus misses with injury, I'm in big strife

Was hoping the war-lord was going to be the one .

I guess Ed Ford coming in .
Maybe foe Davey if he's not picked.
Or some other Kent.

Prob leaves me 100k .

I need to bring in a premo in either next week or week after .
👀 on Stewart, neale ,jezza ...unsure on Sinclair...

What's the 411 On Mitchell and Larid.

I just seen the JOM one...that was soft as butter seating in the sun.

Mitchell: Unknown at this point. Somebody on the Hawks board said he was walking fine after the game. No mention of injuries in the presser and match report. Seems positive.

Laird: Bad action, but Neale didn't hit his head. Could have been really bad though, and they hate that action. 3rd quarter, 16:58 on the clock (2:21:54 on Kayo replay).

I didn't want to pick a player close to the 600k mark, wanted to target the Tom Mitchell's of the world but who can ignore Dawson at that price?

Screw the byes.

Well at this point each player misses one game each and unless you have an extra 6 trades up your belt or a bench full of topped out rookies. The little upgrades to each side comes at a cost.
1. Being a poor bye round with less than 18.
2. Finished sides being either spread out with 2nd tier premo’s. You know the ones whose std dev is 140 one week and 70’s the next to avg 105’ish.
3. Timing - timing the low BE’s against high BE rookies along with bye planning sometimes just doesn’t go to plan.
4. Sideways trades are both good and a sacrifice at the same time.

So this week the best buy in’s would be Ford, Briggs, Ridley, Wardlow, Macrae.
The Best outs for my side are the topped out rookies or guys with High BE’s and will lose too much cash to be able to do anything with if held for another week.
These guys include Ashcroft, Ziebell, Anderson, Wilmont plus the dead to lifeless rookies in Davey, Cincotta, Constable, Sharp & Bytel.

So trade plans have gone from original pre-bye plans as Wardlaw hasn’t flicked my button as much as he did the first time.

So moving into Frack it mode.
Outs - Anderson, Ashcroft & Sharp
Ins - Ford, Macrae and (Cotter - Welcome Back) Ridley.

Don't feel much about apart from still being the same distance away from full premo, which I have become resigned to becoming a pipe dream this year. But this move feels like the smart play, if I could have boosted I would have done the Briggs trade as-well. But some smart guy sold them for some Beans at the market.

Ratugolea > Briggs
Ashcroft > Wardlaw

Single trade upgrade to Neale next week.
Will have to do.
Might consider D Cam, too, but not really sure a path will present there.

I'm considering something similar.

Cowan + Wilmot > Briggs + Ford this week
Then
Seamus + Cincotta > Neale + Rookie next week

For me:

Ford is locked

Then it's Briggs vs Wardlaw

Briggs gives me a ruck score in rounds 12 and 14, and he should be $400k+ in round 15 when he has his bye, where I can upgrade him if I want to

The other option is grabbing Wardlaw as my 3rd trade in

So I need to decide if Wardlaw is a must-have

Bringing him in for a dead rookie will cost me money, so it might hurt my upgrade opportunity next week
Thinking all 3. Just working out optimal dpp swings to make it happen.

That's a good way to stagger it 👍

If you have a ruck missing in two of rounds 12/13/14 Briggs makes sense as you'll get cash gen and 2 scores on field.

For anyone with English he's surely not worth it as they have the same bye.

Yes he will make $150k+ fast, but it's 2 trades to get that money.
Its either him or Ratugolea sitting there at R3 injured. At least hes making money

Hes basically my ticket to DC in R15, (if everything goes well which it rarely does)
