Been considering picking up Angwin all week, I dreamt last night that I decided not too and he went 120, i was spewin.

Actually looking at it again I might trade Greene instead. Keeping Ginbey allows me to loop Cincotta.

Hai gaiz! Apologies for my tardiness Judd_Magic and kyri , i have been trading away in the background tearing at the fabric of my team for no real gain and I am at the crossroads.

I’ve managed to jump from roughly 70k at the beginning of the season into the top 10k last week, but am now staring into the abyss pondering and procrastinating over the teams next move.

I am now exploring all avenues (giggidy) as to which trades need to be made this week.

Is it a triple downgrade to get these dead rooks of the bench and ensure that I will not have to run guys like Hopper and Sheezel as my last mid/fwd/def, OR, do I sit on my hands for a week and wait for some better rookies (barring Cinc) to appear?

P.s. Cinc is definitely coming in this week, just not sure if I’m going to grab Angwin, Simpson, both, or use the Cinc downgrade money to upgrade Connor McGregor or Setterfail.

And then I’d be making an upgrade. It’s time to start trying to bank points. Getting rid of the dead rooks all at once isn’t great - neither is keeping them, but it hamstrings you a bit.

Sheezel should be an excellent F6 option all year, Clarko has said he’s likely to keep him there so I wouldn’t worry about that. Last of your worries when fielding Wilmot + 2 forward rookies.
Hopper less likely to be a permanent M8 but certainly averaging 90 is not a rush to get rid of. So don’t worry about them.

Ginbey to Cinc gives you best part of 230k to upgrade Greene with, so in the 514k ballpark.
Options are
(Via Zieb swing): Day, Docherty
(via Roberts swing - means you field JVR and bench Ashcroft so less of an option): Brayshaw
Straight swap: Heeney, Smith, Owens

I’d lean towards Day, then Smith personally. Day averaging over 100, he is under 500k so good value, playing a good role, just fills an easy spot in your side that is averaging 55 currently but can get you 100. There’s a reason he’s popular.

Then if you wanted to use The boost you could go Roberts to Simpson. Keeps the DPP link and gets a playing rookie on, however this only helps for perhaps a month MAX before Stengle is back I’d imagine. I’d hold tight.

Considering the lack of rookie options, I’m boosting this week and getting in some secure solid scoring low BE and getting rid of some money losers

Setterfield/McGrath/Ginbey for Soldo/Soligo/any mid up to $540k via swinging Sheezel and Macpherson to DEF

Swinging DMac and Sheezel automatically improves my defence already.

Soldo is gonna be no 1 ruck for the long term with Nank out. Low BE, even some tidy 70-80s over the next few weeks will make some cash. Also good ruck cover if required. RUC/FWD means I can run him at F6.

Soligo is doing quite nicely in that Crows midfield recently too. Very very low Breakeven. MID/FWD as well.

Can go from Steele down with the midfielder choice. If I do go with Steele it won’t leave me with much in the bank so I may have to go with a lower range player to have some money to play with next week. I’m thinking along the lines of

Rowell
Perryman
Day
Hewett
Simpkin
Newcombe etc.

Gambling on Drury. A final boost to get some green dots on the field and bring in a player who goes a long way to fixing my bye round issues.

Might change Sicily to Steele last minute. But ridding myself of dead rookies gives me hope to have some juicy cows by the bye rounds.

I would look at doing:

Ginbey > Cinc
Wilmot > Gun (or Greene > Gun)

Don't overthink it I reckon - get those rookies off your field

I haven't seen Cincotta play yet but looking at the blues line-up, his job security looks precarious. Their backline is stacked and both Kemp & Cincotta are named on the bench, with Kennedy & Fisher as emergencies.

Have no option but to bring him in but it has dead rookie written all over it, or is his form that good?. I have enough dead rookies, don't want another one.

His form is good. Not saying he wont be rotated, but he has been very impressive his first 2 games. Worst case we should see him for another 2-3 weeks which gets him to $300k assuming he can score 60-70

Update on my chosen mid, I’ve gone with Rowell. Gets a heap of CBA’s and has been a tackling machine these last few weeks, and with him and Anderson essentially running the Suns midfield, should lead to some solid scores

I have decided to pick up Simpson instead of Dylan Williams.

Not saying that Williams is a bad pick as I would have definitely picked him up if funds were not so tight for me. I need to have sufficient cash on hand to plan my moves for the following weeks and that extra $30k between Simpson and Williams comes in handy.
