I am not sure I was there. I was definitely there when Melb won in 64 but much prefer 68, 70, 72, ..... Spoilt and therefore have not felt the pain that you young fellas have. I am hoping you can feel the elation VERY VERY soon. Was able to say to my son tonight that he has now experienced a Great final.

Matt Kennedy second half was huge….he was ruuusty as but when he got to that contest and competed and gave that handball assist in the 2nd his confidence grew a little.

With 7 minutes to go I was accepting the loss but still thinking how proud I was of this bunch. I was okay with them losing as they had given their all and had not let the jumper down. The loss I felt was down to the more finals experience Melbourne had. It has shown at times and that was the difference.
But then Melbourne couldn’t deliver the killer punch and MOTS kicked that amazing goal against th3 run of the game and I was like could we? No it’s not possible, we are gassed!
But we ****ing did!
This team, wow just wow, I am so ****ing proud of you all. Thank you so much for an unbelievable year …

The horse 'Gawn' was favourite in R6 at Bendigo trots tonight - got beaten there too
