Best everyone sells up and moves to suburbia so we can start the footy at 7.30 then 👍
Anyway … bring on the dees for our next course 💪
The push is for earlier start times. But I do see the sense in the AFL contacting 90,000 people to see what works best for them.

How bloody good is it to still see Round Preview Threads this time of year?

We're going to give this Friday a huge shake. We are here to impact, and impact we will.

SOS playing in a final will be honey for the soul. Mots into 22, Dow to sub and we're good to go.

Bring it on.

There are 5 matches left in this season and we are somehow still part of it. Very strange.

Pitto doesn't need to outmark Gawn. Just hammer him black & blue!

And he played well on Friday.

100% he'll play this Friday.

It's actually TDK that really troubles Gawn with his athleticism and leap, especially around the ground. He beat Gawn last time we played them had some inspirational moments in the last quarter. His athleticism combined with his lionheart makes him a hard match up for anyone when on song. Pittonet also played his part nullifying Gawn when he was on. I would stick with this combo vs Melbourne, especially with Harry out.

Also, with the topheavy side this week I'd bring in Motlop and Dow for Harry and Jack. If Jack SOS is fit to go he should be in the 22 with Dow a great sub to have come on.

its been said before, but Silvani for McKay and Motlop for Martin seems like the obvious replacements.

Dow or Hollands as sub, depending on if we’d prefer to add some spark inside or outside the contest in the second half.

Also, shout out to Cottrell’s work rate.
95, 94, 93, 94, 96, 91, 96, 92, 89. That’s his time on ground % since returning from suspension in rd 17. Dominates the tracker most weeks. 17.6km yesterday (#1), 3.7 at high speed (#1), 9.6 average speed (#1), 27 total sprints (#1), 9.7/9.8 average speed in attack and def (#1 in both), 4th in max speed & repeat sprints. So leader in 6 of 8 categories and 4th in the remainder. Outrageous.
Cottrell is becoming a serious player. He’s been a workhorse from the outset, but I think I have underestimated his footballing ability.

I reckon that was the general consensus early days but he’s just kept workin his butt off and getting better season on season which is all you can ask of the young fella. Worked out quickly he belongs at the level so set about getting better. Done it the hard way and Love him for it

These 7:50 timeslots are near impossible to stay awake for the final term, drink and no chance im making it past halftime.
It depends if your team is involved...... Like after Friday night I found it difficult to get to sleep as the adrenaline was still coursing through me at 3 am.... And even watching the Lions play when I switched over to watch the Australians smashing South Africa in the cricket that kept me well up into the following morning

Well, that's the main thing.;)

So many picking JSOS. Is it just hope over reality?

Is it true that he didn't even play the scratchie yesterday? It seems to me the actual vibe is that he won't be ready this week, and even if he is close, he will be very under prepared.

Unless i'm missing something, i don't think he'll be there in a cut throat final. Next match fit soldier more likely with Vossy i think.
This is making me think Kennedy will be recalled.

This is going to be a tough game without both Harrison and Jack M. I think Jack S would be a good in. But how would it be if Blake A was to spend some time forward (rotating between wing and HFF), and Hollands was to come in?

Other names in the mix are Boyd, Dow, Kennedy and Motlop. I can see arguments for any of these to be included instead of Hollands, but I do like Hollands constant run.

Would have been all for Acres up forward if not for the dodgy shoulder and his (required) marking presence being nullified for the role.

He will stay wing. There’s no other role.
What about half back on ANB? He plays high so it's not dissimiliar to wing anyway.

If they replace JVR with a Spargo, Woewodin type, our back line is going to need adjusting. They already have Chandler, Pickett and ANB, so we would be too tall.

This allows us to get more run in by picking Hollands. Kemp would go forward in this scenario.

On First Crack, Kingy pointed out that Sydney scored 4 goals from our kick out from a point. I didn’t realise it was that much, you combine that with Kemp’s dropped ball and we did give them a few. Mistakes are always going to happen, especially in pressure finals, but this should be fixable. We were quite poor bringing the ball out.

Sorry but I don’t see any scenario where Pitto is dropped this week. He and TDK did a great job nullifying Gawn a few weeks ago.

Unless the AFL tick off one of our players on another's shoulders at ruck contests I think that we'll go with pitto.

😃

For all the Swans' supporters bleating about their inaccurate kicking (and of their 14 behinds, we rushed 3 and touched 2), they would have actually scored less if they nailed some of those shots.

We are going to have to be better to beat Melbourne. Even with their forward line problems, they should have beaten the Pies. I wouldn’t want to be relying on Fritsch to kick at goal like he did Thursday to get over the line. Kozi lacked composure in front of goals as well.

I don’t see them dominating the inside 50 count against us like they did the Pies though. This is going to a really fierce contest, can’t wait.
