It would have been a s**t show.

Great player.

Yeah it probably would have been but he was a talented full forward that could have been handy for us in 2010 with Riewoldt out injured for so long.

I don't think he would have fit in all that well with Ross Lyon's system though and he came with a lot of off field baggage so I can see why we passed.

Brisbane were more desperate than us so took a punt on him and as they mentioned last night it looked like paying off until him and Browny got injured.

Fev also talked about how he was a mad Saints supporter when he was younger and I think he was keen to play for us when he was leaving Carlton but I don't think we were all that keen on him. It would have been interesting to see how that would have played out if he played for us in 2010 and beyond.

He was actually on his way to us.

But we told him he needed a pay cut and his ego got in the way of it.

Something about Kosi getting paid more.

Found it

“They (Carlton) wouldn't let me go to Collingwood," Fevola said.

"Then I was going to go to St Kilda...but I had to take a pay cut and I said if Kosi's (Justin Koschitzke) on more money than me there's no chance I'm going there."

He always seemed like a great bloke to me, just not one cut out for being a highly paid professional footballer and all the temptations that go with it.

And it was a bugger getting home from the game........one of my group didn't get home till 1.00 am.

I was hoping for a crowd of near 30K........about 2.30 pm it was getting very dark in the west.......I thought......"there goes the 30K ".......I'm in the inner south east.

Sure enough.....when I went to go out the door....down came the rain.....was going to meet some people in the CBD for dinner.......when we came out of the pub at 7 pm....the rain had finally stopped and it was much more colder.

One lady in our row said there's no trains after 11 pm....,,,what???????.......sure enough....when I was heading to the Sandringham platform at Flinders St just before 11 pm.......... people were streaming towards me..."no Trains I asked" yep !!!!!!

It was absolute chaos and confusion on the concourse.......the trams heading South were packed like sardines....I eventually got home just after midnight.....it was the icing on the s#it cake !!!!!!!!

As for the crowd........our bay in 39 ....ground floor.....along with the ones either side were the fullest that they had been all season......and the place was heaving when we were kicking goals....best noise I've heard in a while.
Don't worry it gets worse for Frankston/Pakenham/Cranbourne. Glen Huntly Level crossing removal starts soon.

Practically every weekend from late may to Mid July there's no trains through Caulfield

Government gave the rail network to a group that looks mostly Chinese owned years ago. Most of that contracting doesn't allow you to run competition against their services.

Tram services are operated by the French. Busses are broken up in a lot of smaller companies but are mostly unreliable here because it's not the most lucrative.

Like everywhere privation has basically run all the infrastructure down and they will crash the system until the government has to come in and replace it all for them for a minimal outlay while all the profits head off-shore. Old Jeff Kennett told us it would be cheaper and more efficient though so we just have to wait for that to start filtering through now.
The government still tells then what to do. Basically it's the governments train set they let someone else play with

This is the reason now, 9/10, I as a relatively young bloke opts to drive to the the footy as there’s nothing worse than trying to get a train after the footy.

Legitimately don’t understand how after the games there isn’t just train after train for the next 30 minutes to get people moving.

Have trains that runs express to Moorabbin or one of those stations past it just to get it moving and those living further out can also get home quicker and less people cramped.
Part of it is all the works.
The Frankston line has peak direction express trains. Not running because of LXRA works.
Then there's been the endless city loop shit knocking out line or two. It's not so bad at the G but Marvel it's a pain.
Then there's allegedly a driver shortage.

I can guarantee tonight there will be complaints.

Odd request, but theres no way to get the vision foxfooty showed pre game before the 150 v Essendon.

Ross' words about the club were pretty special, just a shame kayo have cut it from the replay now.

Yes I downloaded the full game included pre and post.

I just clipped out the bit you wanted and will upload to the BigFooty YouTube now. Give it a minute.

DISLIKES

1. ROSS REGRET

CARLTON fans are angry. They sense they are seeing substandard results from a super list and so a source of frustration now slinks back to the failed pursuit of Ross Lyon. On the surface that’s unfair for Michael Voss – but the Lyon saga was sloppy. Make no mistake, Lyon wanted to coach Carlton and president Luke Sayers wanted Lyon to be the coach. The wooing started before David Teague’s messy sacking and Lyon suspected he was Winx odds for the job. But Lyon was blindsided when board members Patty Kinnersly and Tim Lincoln were selected on a coaching panel and he had to submit to a process. Lyon felt stitched up and walked in the belief payments to female staff over allegations of his harassment at Fremantle wouldn’t pass the process. When Craig Hutchison criticised Lyon for rejecting a peach coaching gig last year he responded: “It’s a little bit mischievous because Craig understands that there wasn’t really a process, and I’ll just leave it at that”. Other questions have surfaced, such as whether club powerbrokers were relaying their concerns to those board members? Had a clique formed among some staff and were the Blues sweating what the fallout would be if they appointed Lyon? St Kilda headhunted Lyon last year and would be celebrating the circumstances at Carlton. As for Voss, Sayers set a September pass mark for 2022 and so you suspect missing out again would be unacceptable. There is still a long way to go … but the Dogs, Collingwood, Sydney (SCG) and Melbourne lie ahead.

With that list, he would have more than likely won them a flag.

Nope, Blues ae legit a mafioso, they have a sniff at a flag and half of them will be necking the other half to scramble for it and meanwhile the opposition will walk it in and say "thanks for being a literal basket case filled with pressure of expectation never realised".

They need to actually be shit, actually be WCE level of bad where something has to give and everyone sees it for them to finally remove their heads from their collective arses and work together even begrudgingly, so long as they straight mid though, and that sniff is there, they'll be nose to the ground mired in shit to just taste it once since it smells oh so good when mixed with flesh wounds.

As I've said before, there are people inside the club that are more interested in fighting each other over success on field. Lyon might not have been able to take control like he has at a small club.

They would have had petty fights over his staffing and the amounts of power he was allowed. People don't give up turf that they've won through years of machiavellian scheming.

Lyon would have been perfect for the list but he would have been under intense scrutiny when he lost or appointed staff, grabbed at power etc.

It would have been the best list he'd ever had control of but it would have been his first experience working at a big club with the focus on every move. He might not have been as seamlessly integrated as he is at the Saints.

Last bit is wrong.

He had Freo. 2 club state. The media and pressure is on you and every choice you make.

Rest agreed.
