Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

I rate our current 'needs' as follows;
  1. FB/CHB
  2. Medium/Small Defender
  3. Small Forward/XFactor type
  4. #1 Ruck
  5. Outside runner/HBF type
  6. CHF
Clayton Oliver simply isn't a priority and would actively interfere with the development of LDU/Wardlaw etc.
Lol, Clayton is genuinely the best clearance player in the comp, he’s also one of the best defensive mids, he tackles and add pressure at the coalface, add that too LDU/Wardlaw/TT/Sheez/Jy/Powell being first receiver, you have on paper one of the best midfield groups in the comp.

You would be absolutely nuts not to explore this opportunity to the fullest extent.

If Melbourne want a player of that calibre, owed that much money out of their club then it is much closer to a salary dump situation than one in which you’d give up a heap of valuable capital.
At the same time the CBA has increased the cap
You could have signed based as a percentage of the cap but you would still have it in mind how much he would get
Just my thoughts

Saying that sounds too good to be true would be an understatement.

I think it would be something like 2, end of first charity pick and the salary dump for 1.

They are after Reid so a trade with the Eagles or getting some high draft picks will be what they are after to bundle and offer West Coast. If they feel its not going to happen then they will keep him.
l can't see it as a salary dump because they would have done their homework prior to offering him that contract...

Swap him for Sheezel Y or N ?

And therein lies the answer to why we should or shouldn’t give up the planet for a single footballer.

Unless he’s a Carey type
He's only the second player to have won the AFL Coaches Champion Player of the Year Award twice, after Gary Ablett Jnr.

In other words, he's been the best player in the entire competition for two seasons according to those best qualified to make that assessment.

Pending due diligence, pick 3 would be a bargain.

Question is why would they swap a guy that good in his prime when they’re competing for flags now for an 18 year old.

They have proved that they can win and play better without him and getting Reid would set up their midfield for a few more years to come...They also wont have enough to offer WC without offering something else on top of what they have..

Call me nuts then.

Avoid avoid avoid.
