Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

How did you get six?

We started with 38 on the main list.

We're losing Goldy, Cunners, Ziebell, Hall, Mckay, Young, Perez, Spicer.

George returns, and by my calculations that's 31 players and 7 spots on the senior list?

Plus Edwards and Howe gone from rookie list. Could move someone like Laz or Taylor there, maybe?
9 available spots. Pink (may be rookie), Stephens and Fisher. Leaves 6 total spots?

With potentially 5 first round picks for young talent? Our list will be as full as a fat woman's sock

The reason to keep Turner is that he is cultural good snd sets the training standard.

He’s first in, last out and get everything out of himself. He’s a leader in that way.

With a stable of young cults - I can see the coaches wanting that type around them.

Give him a leadership role/development role in the VFL side then.

His spot should be taken by a state league tall eg: Petric

It is either that or very close to it - my brain gets lost dislexia at this time of year.

giantroo , can you confirm that list update?

Let’s say it is, we draft 4/5, recruit 4/5 so it’ll be very close by that point.

Some feelings S Turner or a Bonar may get a gig to help steady the ship with so much change but if a Sean Darcy or Haines poops up - those spots will be gobbled up

Good grief!!! o_O

Plus he earned his way back on the rookie list after being cut. Sets a standard and expectations that coaches would like (even if not a good footballer but the effort and drive to try to be is there) so I could see him retained on the rookie list for that reason. Bonar can't get on the park and I could see Mahony given last chance given his injury but no issues if he's cut too

I fully expect with the injection of players he is bringing in, that there will be a noticeable uptick in Essend*n wins in 2024/25, and then a fall away.

They could finish as high as 6th at the end of the HA season.
That could add some pep to their supporters strides...

Shiel does that and he can actually football.
What standards is Turner setting his his moonball like skills

If we were certain that Hawthorn's offer for Buckets would give us pick 3, and if Essendon don't table their offer tomorrow - I'd like us to offer to pay Ben some extra money (say, $100k for a year) if he decided to sign with Hawthorn. Wouldn't expect the offer to change Ben's mind, but would like to seriously wind up Essendon FC, and give the message that messing with us can have consequences.

If * go ahead with a strategy of offering BMac a contract just below band 1 and we match, are they then able increase the offer to BMac or are they automatically forced into a trade?

Earlier the Hawthorn offer was reported as being as high as $850k per year, which would easily provide Band 1 compo, so it wouldn't be necessary to provide McKay with further financial incentives when he has already rejected a higher salary to nominate a club that in my opinion isn't going anywhere with its current list management strategy. I'm still bemused by his choice when he earlier said that he wanted to test his market value through free agency. We should be talking to his manager rather than to McKay. The player manager is responsible for negotiating the highest possible salary he can for his client.

I know you're not saying this, but any money we might pay to McKay or might provide to Hawthorn doesn't form part of the contract money the AFL bases its compensation decision on, otherwise a desired outcome is too easy to manipulate.

I’m not a big fan of Kayne but watch his last few weeks in the seniors. He is far from our worst. Works really hard and the boys love him.
Would keep him ahead of Mahoney, Bonar and RHJ. He will not be on our list when we are challenging. If only we could put his intent and work rate into TT. Then you would have a superstar.
