Probably been mentioned here already but McKay's also an ex Bomber's fan.
You know sometimes you can just picture a player in your head playing for a club? You can see them in the colours?

I can do that for McKay, but all I see is a smug looking face in black and red with Brad Scott by his side.

Yep, McKay definitely isn’t Penski material

Xavier O’Halloran can’t break into the GWS team. 23 years old, half forward/midfielder. Any chance we could get him this trade period?
Everytime I see him play he is quite meh/average to me. I don't think he has much to offer tbh.

As for now - we have landed McKay. Things can change on a dime, but two different reputable sources are stating he's ours.

Additionally, in coming weeks or throughout the silly season, if you encounter stories regarding Oscar Allen, just know we are interested - yes, a Perth boy, but uninterested in staying at WCE and wants out. This doesn't mean he will get to leave, given he's under contract and WCE would most likely never part with him, but if enough is dangled, I'm guessing it can be done, but would have to be a monstrous offer. Once again, just whispers, nothing set in stone, but he wants out and I am getting told he doesn't mind the Hawks, but we are legitimately trying here irrespective of how out of reach it is.

Kosi leaving is perfect. Get picks back for McCabe, it's all we need, even if it's a shitty pick. Wasn't in our next team pushing for finals.

In any case, our absolute best haul this year needs to have both McKay and Chol involved (including pick 4 attached to it).

If McKay does follow through, and Chol declares us, we need to probably dangle a decent pick in front of GCS, maybe in the form of that future 1st people have been mentioning.

This would give us: Pick 3, Pick 4, First Rounder Matched (McCabe), McKay (KD), Chol (KF, 2nd Ruck).

That is an almighty haul, one that is quite farfetched, but honestly not out of reach. Go well Mitchell & McKenzie.

Go Hawks.

Your wording is like an oppo fan pretending to be a Hawthorn fan taking the pi$$

Just a hypothetical starting 22
Wouldn't it be a sign of improvement if our young small/med defenders force Impey out of the best 22?
In regards to Nash, we used Top 10 picks on Ward and Mackenzie - they need to play. Nash ahead of Butler as Sub is fair enough. Similarily we used a top 30 pick on Butler i just would love for him to replace Wingard in 2024.
Maginness is a great tagger, apart from Butler who would he replace from the team listed?

Yeah, but neither of the ones you listed are ahead of Impey? He's not 32, he's 28 and in his prime. Very good games towards the back half of the year I thought that heavily contributed towards our wins as well.

Seamus has been improving, CJ is injury bound and I feel the games he has played recently in his career have been poor. Would like to see him build and have a very solid pre-season to start at HB. We are stacked at that end, so yes, like you said, competition is good.

Yes, used top 10 picks on Ward & Mackenzie, doesn't give them automatic rights to start in our team? If you are going based off that, why isn't DGB in your team then?

Top 30 pick on Butler? Once again... Just because you use picks, doesn't give a player a right to be named in a team. Ever. I want to see him improve, but doesn't just mean he automatically gets picked. I will once again apply your logic to Maginness, he was a top 30 pick. Why isn't he auto picked in your side then?

It would obviously depend on match ups for Maginness, but in that case, if we were playing Collingwood, WBD, Melbourne, or any of the likes round 1, he is playing ahead of Ward, Mackenzie, Duursma.

Could Oscar Allen be the A-Grader

I respect your comments, the hypothetical team i have stated is for mid March 2024 not this weekend.

Based on the free agency, trades and draft stated in the hypothetical i made up that is the team i would like to see in Round 1 2024.

Having Impey, Nash and Maginness as Emergency is only a good thing for the team to get back to premiership contention.

This thread is just nuttier than a Snickers factory this year. I love it.
My gut feel is that a certain 'new' poster here is a * fan and has a legit source that they 100% have McKay so thought hey why don't I have fun on the Hawthorn board at least until an offical announcement is made. Could be wrong but I always trust my gut.

Seems like this is now a new negotiation tactic for players to either get there current team to panic or play two teams off against each other. Kinda smart when you think about it.

According the tigers page, the Hawks have some interest in Hugo Ralphsmith the son of Hawk Sean Ralphsmith.

HRS apparently can play in the wing / defence. Not sure how he fits in ….. Maybe some one is on their way out.

There’s talk of a player swap Kosi for HRS. Not sure what to think of this info.
