Why name Fort and Gunston then not play them?

Fort was the sub last night, Gunston named for VFL as he had to be per AFL rules as he was an emergency for the AFL team last night - would only have played AFL in the event of late injuries to talls.

Still 2 weeks away from actually playing. Bit weird but that was the explanation.

Kai our best by a lot. Very frustrating quarter this one.
Hard to watch in part because we have no forward structure. HSmith not able to bring the ball to ground in a contest. Interesting watching him and Lane against a AFL level ruckman (well almost). Should we start worrying about their slow progress?

seem to have mastered the art of handballing to a player standing still who has an opponent bearing down on him.

LohMann is just such a smart player. Blake moving better and covering more ground. Could be reaching an acceptable level of fitness. Lyons good in congestion.

Hope Noah is ok. Good to see him back out there.

Lyons looking like a Cox Plate winner racing in a maiden out there. Kai outstanding. Only a zephyr blowing here in case anyone’s wondering about the goal kicking.

Rip blowing a lot of hot air while watching the footy is peak VFL ;)

Fort played very limited minutes last night surely he should have backed up for few quarters at least.

Gunston needs a game in VFL for touch which he is sadly out of. Fagan protects his favourites. These boys battling away when Clearly he will play Zorko, Gunston and Rich after no footy for 4-5 weeks ahead of any of these boys.

If Dunks is injured Lyons will be straight in so good to hear he’s still playing well

That would be a big downgrade as far as defensive run is concerned unfortunately.

Won't be a problem against the Eagles but would be the following week v the Demons.

JL is incredibly valuable depth and is more than capable of coming in and playing a role.

Oh absolutely. Unfortunately I don’t think we have another player like Josh in the seconds so anyone you pick will be a downgrade.

How many teams have a player of JLs ability playing VFL ready to go?

Other options to fill a hole if Dunkley is rested next week would be Dev Robertson to play as the main Neale inside partner, then you have Rhys Mathieson(although currently injured), James Tunstill or Noah Answerth.
