Leading edge for six over mid on for Lanning early. Reminds me of her 133* v England, while the rest of her innings so far has been more like the WBBL|06 Final disaster vs Ismail.

Lol it spun in a highly predictable fashion for a ball sliced out to deep cover, and dribbled to the rope. Even in the air it was starting to boomerang.

A typical boundary rider in the WBBL (somebody like Bridget Patterson, doesn't even need to be an Aus national player) would make it look very easy to stop because she isn't going to overcommit and give away her feet in that situation.

During the first match, the sentence "that will be fielded this time next year" was used in commentary, and I think it applies to this case too.
LOL how many times have you been able to successfully predict how much a ball will spin on a cricket oval, as you are about to field it? None. And it was nowhere near deep cover and you wouldn:t have a clue how much it started to boomerang, unless you were out on the ground She had to take the risk and attack it, because they only needed 5 runs . A completely different situation to a boundary rider , who can take all the time in the world when the match doesn't depend on whether they stop it or not.

Total babble.

She might be gone for the tournament. Mummerings are that Woolvardt is on her way.....
Has there been an recent updates regarding Mooney’s injury - I thought it was originally reported as a knee injury but this photo looks like it’s a calf issue

Game 6 of the Womens Premier League

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (Playing XI): Smriti Mandhana(c), Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight, Richa Ghosh(w), Poonam Khemnar, Kanika Ahuja, Shreyanka Patil, Megan Schutt, Renuka Thakur Singh, Preeti Bose

Gujarat Giants (Playing XI): Sabbhineni Meghana, Sophia Dunkley, Harleen Deol, Annabel Sutherland, Sushma Verma(w), Ashleigh Gardner, Dayalan Hemalatha, Sneh Rana(c), Kim Garth, Mansi Joshi, Tanuja Kanwar

Gujarat Giants have won the toss and have opted to bat

Tonights game sees the battle of the two unbeaten teams.

I also think playing at Brabourne, roughly speaking the scoring is around 15% higher than your normal averages, in relation to strike rate. Quick outfield, and relatively small ground dimensions.

Grace Harris gets a game again.Noticed also Megan Schutt has been dropped for RCB. Devine found some formin her last game. Interested to see how Erin Burns goes.

A dominant performance form the Warriorz. Bangalore horrible with bat with bad decision making.

They have the talent there but just arent geling as a team.

They go 0-4 at this tournament and would need close to a miracle to win it from here.

Reflecting a bit more on last nights game. I think Smriti Mandhana doesnt strike me as someone that can handle the expectation of captaincy. It is really affecting her game and she has got out to poor shots on a great batting wicket.

I think someone like Heather Knight would have been a more choice selection.

If the expectation was she would automatically be as good a captain as somebody who's done the job for England for the last 7 years, then yeah she hasn't lived up to that. I don't know why anybody would hold such expectation. It was an appointment made with a longterm view.

Her dismissals have been about her approach to spin, which hasn't just materialised as an issue in the last week and thus puts a rather large hole in the theory about her batting being affected.

Game 9 should be an interesting contest. Gujarat looking to build on from their win last game.

Delhi will be looking to bounceback after being humiliated in the top of the table clash against Mumbai.

i think this will be a fairly even contest personally.

I’m gathering there has been criticism of RCB captain .

There I’ll go on to say for the remaining four games or so Smriti confidence will be shot and she will underperform further . She is the player under most pressure in this team .
