What time is the first pick called out tomorrow?

Wanting to skip the pre selection coverage waffle that starts at 7
Just asked similar but deleted post once I saw your question.

The best I’ve managed to find is last years stream. From the beginning of the stream to Harley Reid’s name being called out, it took over 40 minutes.

The next 25 picks then took a little over 2 hours (which is a little over the expected length of this years first round).

So at best guess, I’d guess first pick happens around 7:30pm, and draft concludes around 9:30pm

Is Datoli really a Rachele clone? That's not a good thing considering Rachele hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire..

Put up 30 goals/18 GA at 14.1 disp and ok defense this year. Rachele quietly developed into a very solid small forward.

Just needs Adelaide as a whole to get better, and maybe Rankine moving away from the forward line (but still in the side) just to throw a bit more supply his way to get to the next level.

You've just put an arbitrary number that top talent = top 5. I don't agree, especially with how stacked this draft is (and also because everyone says we're bottom 4 next year anywhere, so there's your other top 5 talent).

We have the chance to grab an excellent player with pick 8 and put an extra year into their development. There's no incentive to trade out (especially where its not guaranteed - Eagles might move up a bit, and with the compromised draft next year we might be trading pick 10 in 2024 for pick 11 in 2025). Your argument re: pick 8 is the same as the Eagles pick next year that you're advocating we trade for - no certainty that they are a good player.
Red hot chance you end up with a dud at pick 8.

Have North cooled on Tauru or just come to their senses that you cant be taking a kid that no one else rates top 10 with pick 2?? Would North be a chance of trading back in to grab Tauru if he lands at say pick 10.. North future 1st for Tigers pick 10 and some change.. Allows North to get FOS or Jagga + Tauru which fills a list need.. just a big risk that you take hoping for ladder improvement in 2025.

Tigers won't do the trade. Melb probably take tauru anyway.

Yeah they dont have the academy hand outs or had extra salary cap to play with & they have still won more flags than you in the recent past oh and forever.
What extra salary cap?
And didn't you just get Windhager and Owens?
Our last Academy pick we wasted pick 5 on Braden Campbell. A very ordinary player.
I think it's fair to say both the Swans and Demons will be shit next year.
Demons self inflicted due to their drug culture and Swans self inflicted due to poor drafting, poor recruiting and corporate culture.

Anyone know much about Hotton’s acl injury?
Eg. Was it done when he was changing direction? Did someone fall across his knee? Was it in a tackle? Etc.
Is there any family history with it? Siblings with multiple acls?
Has he had any follow up surgeries?

Any other info anyone can glean?

This is from a Fox Footy article.

“I pretty much knew straight away that it wasn’t good. The next few days were pretty disappointing, just trying to accept what had happened and there was a lot of shock,” he told foxfooty.com.au.

“It went in slow motion, I felt every bit of it, my knee shift out of place and then back in. Surprisingly there wasn’t much pain, it was more an awkward feeling if anything. I got up and walked off like most ACLs, there wasn’t much pain until probably that night when I got into bed. There was a lot of bone bruising from the bones hitting each other so that was definitely the most painful thing but that didn’t set on until the next day,” he said.

“As all injuries are it was in the last five minutes of training. We were doing a bit of match sim at training because we had the next week off with a bye, so we were going pretty hard at training.

“I decided to take off and I sort of sprinted forward after I got the ball, took a few bounces and as I went to kick it someone came to try and smother me and at the last second, I changed direction. As I changed directions my foot slipped, and my knee collapsed under me.”

Get him into the Giants. Got Darcy there to walk him through and show there's complete confidence in the knee. Kid's gunna be electric

Forgive me if this has already been discussed but what is the strategic advantage for any club bidding on Ashcroft

Pretty much forcing the Lions to pay more but they are still getting a bargain. The Tigers won't bid on him with Pick 1 but I'm hoping either North or the Blues do at pick 2 or 3.

Twomey late mail draft is a disaster for Saints. First 7 picks being midfielders.

Either trade up or back/out if you’re the Saints.

So why wouldn't Tigers for the hell of it just bid on him?

The No1 Pick also gets $10,000 as well from the AFL. You would rather that money go to one of your players than someone else.
