I’m hardly a poor judge. I just don’t like pope music
If you want to showcase local talent, **** I can help the AFL get in contact with Emily Highfield and Suldusk and Be’lakor, both Melbourne bands doing well on Europe
I think you're missing the point then based on your second sentence. The aim of the AFL is to appeal to a broad audience, pop music is - generally speaking - inoffensive at worst, and popular at best. It's why they get people like Robbie Williams not some 80s metal band.
Actually I’m not…The hint is in the name 'pop' it's much more popular than metal, which I'm not quite sure why you're struggling to come to terms with.
It’s a showcase. You need to broaden the horizons from outside what’s popular. Something most Australians can’t seem to do if it’s not right in front of them in the media
Most people don’t agree with the AFL’s choice this year. But as long as the teenage girls are happy but
Robbie Williams would have been good, but unfortunately they cancelled the grand final that year. Was a shame, would have liked to see how we went.Robbie Williams was okay
Katy Perry is just targeting the teenage girl group.
I'm a 37 y.o. dude who generally doesn't care for a lot of pop music, but Boom Clap is catchy as.The teenage girls aren't happy, that was my original point when the news broke. Perry is about 15 years out of date both in terms of when her music was popular, and what she herself thinks appeals to people.
It's why I suggested Charli XCX, someone who is actually at the forefront of pop music at the moment. I don't listen to Charli XCX at all, and in fact yesterday had to have the term 'brat' explained to me by my teenage sister-in-law, but that doesn't mean I can't recognise what would actually appeal to kids.
I'm a 37 y.o. dude who generally doesn't care for a lot of pop music, but Boom Clap is catchy as.
People say there is no local talent anymore. I pointed two bands that are doing well overseas.
And if you think my knowledge is poor on music, think again. Just because I don’t know what’s going on in the world of pop music, doesn’t mean I’m limited elsewhere
Unlike some I look outside the media to look for talent. Believe me, there’s a lot of talent outside from Australian Idol etc that gets deliberately overlooked
Iron Maiden IS a mainstream act
54k songs in my music library and mostly brought and he tells me I need to broaden my horizons?
Would be awesome, but they're playing in Japan during GF weekend.Iron Maiden are in Australia this September. Just saying…
