Sorry to clarify I don't think Arie in to play on Hipwood or Daniher is a good idea either, more just an observation that bar and injury crisis I don't see him getting a gig no matter what his VFL form is.

Ross mentioned Arie in his presser but yes I do t think they’re going to rush him. He is coming back from concussion too

I don’t feel confident we have enough till timber in defence with Howard out, and yet our defence is always lauded and we kept Gold Coast to a low score with Howard down for most of the game.

So I imagine Cordy is the choice, but I wonder how his form has been for Sandy. Has he even been playing?

Interesting listening to that Champion data guy say our style of play is actually working well but it's the connection with the forwards that's failing.

I wonder if at some stage things forward of centre will click for us.

I actually think the club will see this as a chance at a scalp. Forwards will need to massively step up though.

He’s not a KP. Battle is probably his competition for a third tall defender. I reckon AS is probably the most advanced kid we’ve had in ages and on track to be a gun. Just no spot for him yet.
Schoenmaker playing in the A team this morning in match sim and Ben Paton keeping a tight check on Collard, a possibility for Cameron.

We had the fourth equal most inside 50s (56, equal with Sydney) for the round so obviously we were doing something right.

Then again, West Coast had the third most...

I reckon it will click. But not confident it will click up at the Gabba. Fingers crossed, would be a rare treat.

Surely the to advantage kick into forward 50 is the most difficult in the game. Its critical. It’s also tough when you forwards seem to be flat footed, playing from behind and calling for the ball over their heads (not looking at anybody in particular). Membrey, our most natural leading forward, being out of form doesn’t help with structure either.

I'd love to see Paton back as a lock down player. It's his best chance of becoming a good afl player again.
Agreed. He stood out for me in the VFL game against Gold Coast, looked like his old self and provided a bit of rebound. No doubt that he’s at his best when going with a player down back. I still think he’s worth another year.

It's been that way all season. Same with Melbourne. We can all see what isn't working it's just hard to fix. Butler made a huge difference but even with all our better forwards available we would need to have a game out of character to beat even an ordinary Lions side at home.

I'd still prefer a loss to be honest. This season is cooked and if we are going to lose Battle being shit might make the AFL throw some pity our way.

Remember though, choosing to not enjoy watching us win, or choosing to be grumpy about it won't affect the Battle compensation. So if we do win, you might as well take pleasure from it.
Plenty of other games we can lose and still be seen as pitiable.
And I think destroying Friday and Saturday night footy a few times already this year has probably sufficiently got the AFL's attention already. Even if it was all Hardwick's fault last weekend.

Not good. His last opponent kicked 5 goals.

My ideal world we lose most game from here on but all are high scoring thrillers..

What will happen is we will lose most game and most will be low scoring anxiety inducing bore fests.
Funny that. My ideal world is a bit different. Triple flags and a dozen horny wives. Sunset walks along the beach, all 13 of us hand in hand with our little future sainters all trailing behind singing in harmony. Hopefully at least one of us gets our wish anyway.

I see it more that the players passing the ball forward need to improve. Their ball use by foot and hand is horrid way too often.

I don't know what I'm saying seriously.

It was a half baked ramble based on the knowledge we probably don't win too many more games so lets try and get a good pick but somehow still get something enjoyment wise from the season.

I definitely prefer your ideal world.
