Yeah Sherman deserves a call up after the last match. He was very good.

He looks like he's struggling with it in the VFL.
struggling now if h has injured it again
whens he out of contract?

St Kilda FB stating Shoenmaker named to make his debut! :)

whomever said he wont get a game because ross doesn't rate him or whatever it was....yeah nahh

"Hey coach, we don't have the skill to punch through defensive zones, I'm out of ideas."

"Go over it, stupid."

Between him and Bonner, might be a two kick to goal from the defensive goal square scenario. Maybe a Battle cameo roost if it switches sideways.

Cordy.

Gabba, minding Eric Hipwood coming off kicking 6 goals is not the job for an undersized debutant. Arie will get his chance, but we're not Jackson Fergusoning him.
Shows how much I know! Our direction this year is now clear, hold onto your hats and get ready for draft day and '25.

Honestly Arie imo had the potential to reshape our backline in a simmilar way to Cal Wilkie did.

1) he’s a kick in option meaning bonner Sincs and nas can take less kick ins and play higher up the ground.

2) he will eventually become an interceptor, with a 70 metre leg he can quickly turn defence into offence.

3) overall with his clearing ability he’ll just take so much pressure if Battle Wilkie etc etc and allow them all to be more attacking.

Very excited to see him play.
Not many big defenders are capable of getting 25+

He’s not a KP. Battle is probably his competition for a third tall defender. I reckon AS is probably the most advanced kid we’ve had in ages and on track to be a gun. Just no spot for him yet.

I’d like Arie to come in, but only way I can see it happening is Battle to KPD on Daniher, Wilkie to Hipwood, free up Arie to Battle’s usual role. Otherwise it’s just setting Arie up to fail which would dent his confidence.

See I think Riley is his biggest competition for a spot.

With Sinclair going back there again, it allows Arie to take Riley's spot as a designated kicker and takes pressure off Arie who isn't yet good enough overhead or one v one to take Battles spot.

Sounds like Webster gave him a spot.

Well deserved Arie!!! Couldn't be happier for the kid, did it the hard way but got there! Yet ANOTHER debutant from this year's draft.

He may not be the finished product, but I can't wait to see that left peg for the next decade!

Seems a long way from the pre season when stories appeared in the media reporting Arie being sent to train with the Sandy boys.

Our club played it with a straight bat however that didn’t stop certain parts of the media, and many opposition supporters, from speculating. Apparently he had messed up again, or was unfit or whatever. Some further opined that he was probably on his way out of St Kilda before a game had been played.

Many opposition supporters simply didn’t want to see the Saints score a win with a late draft pick.

Anyway the young Tasmanian has been very impressive on the track and in all games since the VFL season began.

His debut is very well earned indeed.

Respect
