A very good mate was the Pioneer's CEO at the time, Aussie was awesome at a difficult time when Essdendon hated the alignment, the VFL couldn't give a shit and the AFL was equally indifferent to anything outside of Melbourne.

Any VFL watchers care to put up a wishlist of coaches you'd want for the open Sandringham job? Must be able to create synergy with Lyon and his version of Saints footy.

Further to this, anyone know if our plans are to keep David Misson in place as Footy Director long term or do we have other names in mind? I'd love us to poach Leppitch from the Pies.

I heard that Shoenmaker can kick the ball across Rivers.

I wonder who moves to the Sandringham job? My guess is Harvey to take mids, Enright to forwards & Goddard to Sandringham.

Goddard needs the experience to coach his own side.

Just looked up Jared Rivers bio. One thing caught my eye. He got suspended for 2 games for striking Ben Dixon of Hawthorn. Big tick in my book.

If they have aspirations for senior coaching roles, they'd want more experience than one zone on the ground.

Apart from a general celebration of all things Geelong, they did eventually ask him about his coaching role, to which he replied ,"I'm in charge of the back line ". No mention by him of any changes.

Thinking of Harvey returning to the midfield has got me reminiscing about what it was like watching St Kilda play when he was playing in the midfield.

It actually got monotonous, seeing him heavily involved in every single passage of play throughout the game! He was such a bull magnet, weaving in and out of traffic. It was probably the first time I've seen a midfielder that prolific.

If he can teach the midfielders we currently have to be even 3/4 of the player that he was, then we'll be doing great things in years to come.
