AFLW 2024 - Round 8 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Hannaford and Berry are the two we need with 17 but we might get beaten to the punch in both. GWS looking to replace their FA/trade losses this year a real risk to go for similar types to us.
Surely we trade up to 11 or 10 with our future first this years 3rd.
Yeah if we trade above 17, we need to make sure we keep 17 and 25. Surely there’s a club out there that is willing to take a future pick. Richmond is the only one that makes sense to me since they are in rebuilding period I’m sure they’d like more options in next years draft as well.17, 25, and a future first for 13 would be disastrous.
No current season stats available
I don't think that's the implication of a deal. More than those are our assets that could be used as part of a deal.17, 25, and a future first for 13 would be disastrous.
If we have f/s next year, it makes sense to trade our future first.
Thanks, with the circus in our trading, I haven’t paid much attention to the draft.Lukas Eagleton and an academy kid or two, don’t know if any are rated particularly high. 2026 is the year with Cooney and West.
Hannaford's 2km time trial was pretty poor. That may rule him out of our thinking.Hannaford and Berry are the two we need with 17 but we might get beaten to the punch in both. GWS looking to replace their FA/trade losses this year a real risk to go for similar types to us.
It's all about getting to contests and being able to contribute an over the ground. Nick Riewoldt changed the CHF position with his tank, and guys like Robert Harvey and Shane Crawford were cardio animals.Isn't it funny how running ability is nearly as important as football skills.
It the same at the junior levels where I live. My son does little athletics, there are run clubs and most of the dominate juniors are parts of these clubs now. People realise time trails, cross countries etc are so important to building the base to be an AFL footballer.
Always hard to tell though Darcy went from being a late pick to top 3Lukas Eagleton and an academy kid or two, don’t know if any are rated particularly high. 2026 is the year with Cooney and West.
I would be pretty confident that won’t happen.17, 25, and a future first for 13 would be disastrous.
Probably could get him quite a bit later than our first though depending on how bad that test actually was we could be looking at the high half forwards with better endurance like Angove and Alger later. Been looking through more footage of Hamish Davis and I reckon he is the one just screams being the sort of player we pick.Hannaford's 2km time trial was pretty poor. Carlton paid for 14 with their F1 and F2, so it would cost more than that I think.Surely we trade up to 11 or 10 with our future first this years 3rd.

He reminds me a bit of Bont in the way he plays. Would certainly learn a lot from him if we take him around that mark.Rookie me Central has Hamish Davis going right on where our first pick will land (22 after academies and F/S).
He does look quite impressive, only knock is his lack of explosive speed.
F/S and NGA pool would likely be past Pick 30 at this point in timeIf we have f/s next year, it makes sense to trade our future first.
We've got 4 main list spots for the draft if we want them, without needing to delist Keath or Clarke. Using them all though would leave no room for additional rookie spots, which means no places kept open for the SSP which we've used in recent seasons to decent effect (Scott, Baker, Bramble). We have three main list spots, so I assume we either move on pick 48 or delist Keath. Presumably we’ll pick up some other team’s discard with Rypstra’s rookie spot as per protocol.
