I have heard we have put significant work into Barrat although he isn't exactly a genuine key position but I do like him. In terms of genuine talls Mraz and O'Farrell are the two that stand out for me and could've gone alot earlier if not for injury although with the type of injuries they had it's no suprise they've slid.

Another third tall I heard us linked to today was Ned Bowman. Not one I've seen spoken about on here and not one that has been high on my radar but he does have an impressive highlight real and capability to play half back, wing or forward.

All of the above apart from maybe a slight reach for Barrat are all going to be there for our last 2/3 picks.
His interview on Youtube (see link below) reveals he's faced a lot of adversity both with injury and with family loss which points to his character to become a very determined young man willing to succeed. His highlights show that he can play back or forward and his strengths appear to be excellent reading of the ball and marking. Listed as 194cm so could be a very versatile option.

Hun mock draft second round:

28. Richmond - Harry Oliver
29. Western Bulldogs - Ollie Hannaford
30. West Coast - Noah Mraz
31. Port Adelaide - Tom Gross
32. Fremantle - Kayle Gerreyn
33. St Kilda - Tom Sims
34. Hawthorn - Hamish Davis
35. Western Bulldogs - Angus Clarke
36. GWS - Logan Smith (matching bid)
37. Port Adelaide - Josh Dolan
38. St Kilda - Adrian Cole (matching bid)
39. Carlton - Jasper Alger
40. Carlton - Ben Camporeale (matching bid)
41. Essendon - James Barrat

A bit nervous about Hotton due to injury. He would be a very good pick up aside from the nervousness about his potentially higher odds of redoing it.

But also, why are our concrete links normally guys whose weaknesses include kicking? We are already a poor team by foot and in front of goal as it is. I want to see us get people who are good kicks under pressure/high football IQ and some two way pace, agility for tight spaces. Team needs more hurt factor.

Also links to Berry, Hannaford and Hotton so far. Seems to me that we are looking more for that link up half forward/mid type, than another pure mid (we still need a contested bull that powers out and hits the scoreboard type), and wing. With our first up pick. Which is probably fair as those good fwd/mid types are all around our first pick mark, the best mids in the draft will be long gone before we are on board.

It's becoming clear after seeing all these mock drafts that players that would be good for us falling to our picks is quite dependent on other teams taking key position players early. Which teams have a need for them? I'd hazard a guess at Richmond, Sydney and Melbourne being most in need.

If Richmond are not talking KKP types with half of their picks, then they are asking for trouble. So you would think they would take a couple. Sydney definitely needs help at both ends. Demons need help up front. So you nailed those teams.

Even the Saints do not have much going for them at either end. But will probably go for a midfielder back to back.

But aside from Reid, not much of the potential sliders strike me as the types we would need. Still reckon Berry goes before our pick sadly.

I would’ve thought port would need a key forward ? Not a very inspiring lineup of talls on their list

Where is he projected to go ? Hopefully they take him over Berry

Roughly in the 15-25 range from what I’ve seen, so it wouldn’t be a reach for them to pick him. If Port and GWS both take a KPF it’ll help us immensely, as at least one of Berry, Hotton and Hannaford likely gets through. Although Hannaford seems to be rated anywhere from 15-30 so whether we would bite at 17 is yet to be seen. Very interesting part of the draft.
