Anyone who's primary position has been in the defensive 50 should be avoided and ruled out completely with the first three picks, drafting defenders is generally a waste of a pick with everything factored in. If a player has talent you can easily turn them into a defender and in junior footy the players with the least amount of talent generally play in the backline.

surely you just take each player on their merits? Richards came to us as a defender and even if he hadnt of been able to make the move to the midfield, hed be a damn good one.

I really hope we can land Sam Davidson either with a late pick or in the rookie draft if he misses out again. He seems like a guy who is ready to step up at AFL level and can fill a need straight away. His ceiling being that D'Ambrosio / Mannagh level of impact that we often sit back and go damn I wish we grabbed him.

Edit - If he goes to Geelong and looks a player I will be so very annoyed.
