Twomey only did a top 30. Davidson may well be in our mix, but probably later.Flat that no mention of Davidson from Twomey. He'd be perfect for us IMO
Where does he play? He's a small marking forward and a very light body. I'm not sure I see a role. I'd much rather a ground ball / crumbling small if we go that route.Is there a reason people here are not into Datolli?
Any crumbling small forward available with our next pick 35Where does he play? He's a small marking forward and a very light body. I'm not sure I see a role. I'd much rather a ground ball / crumbling small if we go that route.

There’s been zero talk of it, so I doubt it’s an option, but would you trade 17 & our future 1st for Tigers Pick 11?
If Twomey’s phantom is fairly spot on,
11 -> 14
17 -> 20
At 14, we have the choice of Reid, Berry, Hotton whereas Tigers drop to 20 and likely snag one of Shanahan, Armstrong, Whitlock. (Twomey has them taking Shanahan at 14)
Our 2nd round pick still puts us in with a chance to still grab a Hynes/Hannaford type.
2 years of future pick trading comes in next year as well.
Watch from the 4 minute mark Hynes take over the game. That's enough for me to say he is our man if one of Berry or Murphy don't slip.
Have a listen to that. He’s made of the right stuff, Buckley was impressed. He would know a thing or two about what it takes.
At first glance I described Hynes as Matt Kennedy, its a lazy comment because they are taller inside mids who can rest forward.
Heres some facts:
Lost 8kg’s in 16 year by upping his diet and professionalism. He’s only scratching the surface of his physical capabilities.
Hes been a forward whole career, only moved to midfield recently. Heaps of development still to come as mid. Particularly how we emphasise our players to be clean with hands, this will improve dramatically in our team if we get him.
As a bottom ager he kicked 18 goals in 13 games in Coates league. This year he kicked 22 goals in Coates talent in 15 games. That includes bags of 5, 4 and two 3’s.
1 goal per game at nationals.
To say he plays tall when forward is not true. He is a good 1 v 1 forward, ourbodies opponents rather than outreaches. More strings to bow than that though, he also snaps goals and crumbs well.
In terms of ball winning.
Found the footy for fun at both levels this year.
24 touches a game at CTL, dipped below 20 touches 3 times only, all after he got an ankle injury against bushrangers. he played out the year with that injury and sat out the combine because of it. Thats pretty consistent.
17 touches per game at Nationals at 79% efficiency.
CTL team of year, runner up in Morrish Medal.
Give the kid some credit. His CV is very solid.
The upside could be huge.
Definitely has AFL traits. As forward who pinch hits mid to begin with and plays some footy next year.
If Berry, Reid are gone. Im happy to get this bloke and can definitely see him adding to our list.
Got alot of questionable frees, has poor disposal and all of his goals were Joe the gooses. Worrying.Watch from the 4 minute mark Hynes takes over the game. That's enough for me to say he is our man if one of Berry or Murphy don't slip.
Or... he works hard and manages to get space off his man to create out the back opportunities.Got alot of questionable frees, has poor disposal and all of his goals were Joe the gooses. Worrying.
Can confirm, rock hard.Can’t wait for another 2 days of bed wetting over some players we might not even take, or those who have an absolute hard on for trading up in drafts for no apparent reason than believing they are guaranteed 1 good player instead of possibly 2 good players.
I LIVE FOR IT
I suspect Moraes is in contention for 3rd pick not 2nd.We like players who storm home in their u18s year. Hannaford is that type. Hynes has had a good year. It’s one reason why I wonder about the potential Moraes pick as he didn’t have a big year this year compared to last.
I saw ESPN describe him as Sam Powell Pepper.A question to those who follow Cooper Hynes. If the midfield position doesn’t work out for him can we expect him to be a more explosive version of Bailey Fritsch in the forward line?
What I saw he reminds me more of Lachie Hunter.I like him but just doesn’t seem like a crumber with pace… but I could be wrong!
