Essendon happy to give up stringer for a late pick. He kicked over 40 goals last season he would get a game before Chandler.
I spose they both play in the same half of the ground, so that's something.

In the scenario where Jagga slides to 5, who are the 4 taken ahead of him? I assume O'Sullivan, Draper, and Lalor would be 3 of the 4.
I think you'd need FOS or Lalor to go to Richmond at pick 1. You'd need North and WCE to fail to trade down and split their picks (apparently both are trying).

I hear North are trying to trade down because they love Tauru and think they can get him later... but lets say they can't make that deal, do they just take Tauru at 2 anyway? That's been speculated by some.

West coast... who knows? They've tended to prefer not picking vic metro kids at the top end in recent years.

Adelaide have to pick Sid Draper surely, it just makes too much sense.

I told my young impressionable toddler that Jake Stringer is such a pig he doesn't even take fast food out of the container before eating it, he just shoves it straight in his mouth. Pizza gets eaten in the box, happy meals slide straight down the throat, same with coke-a-cola, Jake just opens his big gob and inhales it all, doesn't matter if it's a paper cup or aluminium can or a bottle. Whoooomp.

Anyway I'd love Stringer at the Dees, he's a ****in' dead shit. Would be guaranteed to turn it on at least one game and be absolute garbage for most of the rest.

Stringer and Clarry, what a combo, I'm sure Brand Petracca would love it.

Richmond’s potential draft hand. Apparently we will target one with our future 1st pick. Would anyone be happy to drop back for say pick 5 and a future 1st for 10, 14, 20.

I think pick 5 is too valuable personally. Wouldn't be giving that up to drop back to mid to late first round picks where the hit rate becomes less likely. I feel we need top end talent and there's a few at the top end who could potentially bring that to our club.

Sounds like we are into one of Freo's picks they get from Tigers. Seems like we really rate this draft. I like it, but it is risky being that we are likely to finish anywhere next year.
Freo isn’t getting any picks from the Tigers

Really can’t see a scenario where we drop back on this draft after so many years of trying to trade up. Could definitely see us trading a F1st and would absolutely support that even if this years pick ends up being 5 picks or so later than next years. Extra year of development and such a strong draft

I've always thought he would be, but recent suggestions have Alix Tauru moving into the top 5 and there's still a chance that guys like Murphy Reid and Harvey Langford end up in there as well.

Its much more open than I would have expected.

I wouldnt be falling in love with the idea of Jagga sliding to your pick, but its not out of the question any more.

Edit: in terms of who you take at 5... you guys are by far the most difficult to judge for me. Are Oliver and Trac only with you for one more year? If you have eyes firmly on the future then perhaps you take someone like Lalor as a guy with that game breaking potential and versatility you can build around.
Wouldn’t be unhappy at all if we took Lalor. Could absolutely see JT doing that because he looks like a player that could help us in the midfield and forward straight away. Is he too similar to Tholstrup though and we tried to plug that hole already last draft?

If Jagga slides we’d be very happy with that I’d say. Really complements our existing mids. And I don’t think you can go wrong with FOS if he’s there - a bit like Serong. Could see WC nabbing him though and doubt he’s there at 5

I don't have Tholstrup and Lalor in the same tier as talents myself. No disrespect to Koltyn, but I loved him last year mostly for his knockabout character and demeanor out on field. Even if he only just ends up being a solid footballer rather than a star he'll stick around for a long time and be a fan and club favourite as a bloke everyone loves.

Lalor has serious star potential. Tholstrup I think will be more of a flanker or winger, where Lalor will be a legit powerful inside mid who can rotate forward, take marks and kick goals.

Awfully boring trade week for the comp tbh
When isn't it boring? AFL trade period has always sucked dick. There's normally maybe one star playing moving and then haggling over a bunch of shit. No big deals ever come out of nothing because the clubs can't trade players. It's shit

This is the content I live for. Oliver inducted into the Jared Polec worst contracts of all time list

Essendon should trade Stringer to a 1980s VFL Club where kicking goals but having a tendency to be a little unfit is tickety boo.

40 goals to a team that battles to kick 70 points week in week out. But let’s keep playing chandler who offers very little & has never won a game off his own boot.

The fact Chandler finished 8th in the BnF suggests his role is more than kicking goals.

I don't rate him that highly but he's doing a lot right from the coaches POV.

Wow, these contracts are ridiculous. Common theme is that they all seem like panic moves to fight off other clubs.

Starts at 15:50 and worth a listen. Couple of clubs feature a couple of times.

I think the Darcy one might be the all time stinker from a list management perspective. Done 12 months early, long years and massive money for an injury prone ruck when you already committed so much to Jackson.

Reidy is 3rd ruck but could easily be support for Jackson. They also have Knoble who looks promising. Could have sold Darcy off for a first rounder or two and I don't think their GameDay team would be any worse for it, in fact probably better with a ruck who can actually play forward or is more mobile.

Plus they let go Meek to the Hawks who's absolutely more than fine as an AFL ruck

Agree, in another team with a faster more attacking style he would kick a lot more goals. Imagine him at the Hawks!

I think we might see the best of ANB next year too. More attacking, more freedom and more dangerous forwards around him.

Trade radio smashing Ginnivin and Watson for cancelling a kids clinic at the last minute the morning after their B&F.

They should be smashing whomever organised it. Early morning after the B&F and you pick 2 young guys? Poor planning and surely players can go enjoy that night without commitments the next morning in the longest AFL year ever.
