She really did.

Then for some strange reason she announced that Pickett struggles with homesickness. Did she ask his permission to launch that one? I mean, if I was dealing with emotional struggles I’m not too sure I would love someone putting it out their without asking.

Then there was a really awkward bit that probably wasn’t intended but has a chance to sink her regardless.
I'll have to track the whole interview down. She's never been a strong leader. If it's true that she hasn't even given Trac a call, then that's disgraceful.

I can only imagine that is fitness base was pretty ordinary if he only started footy that year. Agility would sure suffer if you buggered 3 mins into the game.
Looked like he had something to me. I'd leave him and Jeffe alone in the F50 at Casey to start next year. We're gonna finish towards bottom anyway.

Head to the General Discussion thread, I've pinned it there

I just don't see Trac agreeing to go to a club about to go through a lengthy rebuild with their star players wanting out. Essendon is probably the only option that could satisfy both Trac and Dees. But if he doesn't want to drive an hour out to Casey, then I doubt he'd drive an hour to Tullamarine.
Tracca wants big loud crowds, lots of money, (eg his podcasts etc). The Tiges will have tonnes of salary cap space. And can play on the 'G', at least every 2nd week.

Casey, well its taken his Homing-Pigeon a long-long time, to get back with the message, that 'Tracca thinks Casey is too far out'.
Some years in fact. I think Tracca might have played at Casey, in his first AFL season.

The pigeon is the fittest its ever been, after a few round the world trips.

Maybe send Oli out to follow that pigeon, this preseason. The least that can happen is Oli gets many frequent flyer points.

Literally three of my four favourite players could be gone in one offseason
My confidant is a Italian/Australian shop owner, who's son played juniors with Melbourne, and seniors at Carlton... and was a Carlton director.
He entertained Petracca last weekend at his home. and I believe, has visited Petracca's family, a few times in recent past.

A strooong Italian family culture, that is doing most (If I might take the long bow) of the talking in Tracca's head.. They also suggested to me that we, 'Melbourne', should do a Richmond, and a FULL Re-build, from the ground up.
Interesting timing to these words, hearing them first hand just a few days back, and now reading them from some visiting posters on the footy forums.

Is it that some clubs are trying to plot our downfall, from the outside.

Well, isn't that just so convenient for Carlton, to swoop in and try to undermine our recent Melbourne successes, de-stabling our very list and culture. So that they can prosper from US.

This has obviously been going on for some time, but obviously has ramped up since the injury to Tracca, in the Kings Birthday match.

I think what it shows is its a boys club at the top with the leadership group and coach. Goody, Viney, Gawn, May, Lever are so far removed from reality and what their teammates are actually thinking.
Melbournefc always goes back to being a boys club, after on-field success. We have to get our HQ out of.. and away from, the 'G'...

This continually happens after success's, and we start to gloat and become inwardly satisfied with ourselves. Arrogance follows, and then it's all downhill. Like a downhill skier, shusshing down the slopes... Tally Ho.

FFS, get our people out of the MCC/MCG area.

Big If and a lot of people are fed up with this rabble. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

If only Tassie was introduced a lot sooner.
The Melbourne Storm are just across the rail yards.

IF the AFL allow this crap to destroy our club: I say, stuff you AFL.!

The AFL always help the bigger clubs, get bigger,,, louder,,, and more spoilt... see the Brayshaw hit and subsequent tribunal result on Maynard. Compare to pickets bump on Moore. Umpire decisions in favour of the PIZZ... and other loud clubs.

I'm outa here, if it all happens.

Minnows will always be up against it in any sport.

As good a player Patracca is, he and Richmond is not a good fit right now.

Richmond are just starting a rebuild and need picks more than an established good player. Patracca will want to go to a big club that could have a shot for a flag in the next 4 years, not spend his time in a lengthy rebuild.

Carlton are probably the best fit right now, but they will need capital to do a trade and the salary cap room to do that. Based on reports/speculations McKay would be a part of the deal, but it's iffy if he wants to go or if Carlton are interested in trading McKay.

My guess at the moment is Patracca will stay at Melbourne.
We do not want nor need McKay, as a trade in a Petracca deal.

We need Mids to refresh our mid-field, and modernise it, the mid-field.

I like the idea of sacking the board, from roffey down all the way... and onto Pert and footy dept.

Then workout the way to keep Tracca and Pickett, jettison Oliver, Hunter, and any others working in the shadows of life.

Mark Robinson: Former Melbourne president Joe Gutnick backs calls for a full-scale review of embattled Demons

With focus on the Dees at an all-time high for the wrong reasons, a former president has backed calls for a full-scale independent review of the club in the wake of the Christian Petracca stand-off.

Former Melbourne president “Diamond” Joe Gutnick has supported calls for a full-scaled review of the embattled football club.

Distressed by the Christian Petracca stand-off, and other recent controversies, Gutnick said he was disillusioned having to watch the club “fall apart and disintegrate” in recent weeks.

Gutnick’s concerns comes as the Herald Sun can reveal Petracca’s partner Isabella Beischer – formerly a lawyer at the Hall & Wilcox legal firm, is now the business manager of Trac 5 Pty Ltd.

She is the key driver of “Brand Petracca”, which reportedly is one of reasons influencing Petracca’s desire to pursue a trade to a big Melbourne club.

She became Petracca’s business manager in April this year, two months prior to Petracca being severely injured in the King’s Birthday clash with Collingwood.

Gutnick said he would be moved to support a potential challenge to the Demons’ board, but would not be part of any ticket.

“I’m not interested in becoming president again – I’m a supporter, a member, and I’m concerned the whole club is falling apart and disintegrating in front of the AFL world,“ he said.

“Something is wrong and it’s incumbent on the board to make an independent review.

“Whether it’s the coach’s fault, whether it’s the board’s fault, or the football department … is there is not enough unity at the club? All these questions are being asked.

“Most importantly, there’s no one in the Melbourne Football Club who doesn’t like Petracca – he’s been a super player and a super representative of the football club, so why is he so adamant about leaving? It’s perplexing. There’s something wrong somewhere and we have to get to the bottom of it.”

Melbourne board challenger Peter Lawrence this week joined former great David Schwarz in calling for a full-scale independent review of the club’s operations.

Demons’ president Kate Roffey on Thursday rejected such a move.

“No, I don’t think so,” Roffey told SEN. “We’re always looking at reviewing, we’ve been constantly working on all sorts of things throughout the year. That’s never a stagnant process.”

Gutnick said: “She is wrong. I think (a review) is needed. Why won’t she have one? People are disillusioned.”

Asked if he had faith in Roffey, Gutnick said: “I can’t really comment, I don’t want to be critical of any individual, the coach or the president. I don’t know what the real issues are, and I don’t think too many do know, and that’s why we need an independent inquiry. We need to get to the bottom of it for the sake of the supporters, the sake of the players, and the sake of the future of the club.

“Maybe that can save the rift with Petracca, that would be the best outcome for everybody.”

Gutnick, who was Demons’ president from 1996-2001, said he had this week written an email to Roffey, chief executive Gary Pert, board members, coach Simon Goodwin and captain Max Gawn expressing concerns – and had not received back a single response.

“Being an ex-president, I thought I would have got something,’’ he said.

Gutnick said he did not have details about former president Glen Bartlett’s legal battle with the club.

“But to dismiss a president in the middle of the year, and he has all these gripes, and they haven’t been able to resolve it, and all these issues with (Joel) Smith and drugs, and this and that … it’s just not right,’’ he said.

“We were in such a good position in 2021 and it’s gone downhill. There’s this disunity, disillusionment with supporters, something is wrong.’’

Weren't you calling for KPFs last offseason? :$

Last off season we still had Harmes, Jordan, ANB and Trac

And didn’t have Fullerton, Kentfield whilst Petty and Turner were defenders
We had Brown, Schache and TMac as KPFs heading into this year? Listing Petty and Turner as KPFs after this year is pretty silly. Both would be in defense if we had better options.
