I’m not across the intricacies of the draft and compo system like others but curious why it would be a given that we’d get the eagles’ best pick next year if Warner played out 2025 here, then left, wouldn’t it be a Dawson situation again? They would know we have no leverage and take that good pick off the table? If it’s a compo situation and we finished in the top half of the ladder, that pick would be garbage as well relative to Chad’s value?

Is the difference that Dawson wasn’t as highly regarded as Chad when we lost him (and no one seemed to appreciate his true value), so it was easier to screw us over?

Regardless, there seems to be no suggestion that he is open to going before 2026…feels like we are going to get dudded again.
Unfortunately the reference points will be Dawson and whatever Smith goes for this year

187cm but atleast it shows to me they have the idea of grabbing a medium forward, even though his stats look horrific even at VFL level
Hard to read into the actual quality of any North forwards at either level, outside the top few.

Might be useful if we change from 3 talls.

Possibly get almost as much from drafting a Hynes or Davis, or more by playing Warner there.

Went back to his draft profile because thats a better indication than the broken North forward system. Curtis Taylor and Paul Curtis have been playing tall the last couple of years alongside Larkey its just broken. No wonder they are so poor

Even if we don't change from three talls another quality small/medium forward on the list is at least a second priority if not a first. There's a good chance that Curtis has already hit his ceiling while either Hynes or Davis and a few others would go past him in their first year.
Definitely not, list clogger.

So we get 44 for Parker.

That comes in to 38/39 on draft night. Live trade that for a future second for someone who slides. Points sorted for next year.

Not sure we should combine 19 and 22 for 13, but maybe that’s just me.

If the 3-club trade happens, Port will end up having 13, 29, 39, 50, 58

So a pick swap with them could be something like:

IN: 13, 39
OUT: 19, 22

At a guess?
