To be fair bar Stephen’s we haven’t had the high picks. Always easier when you have them

Thats not actually true

You know you dont have to answer everyone in this thread 😂

Hard to get excited about the draft unless we take a ready-to-go small forward.

Not interested in 18 year olds for five years away when we only have a few seasons left of Heeney, Papley etc. in their prime and Sir Dane, Lloyd, Cunningham, Grundy all over 30 and still more important than they probably should be.

We stuffed up a COVID draft, it happens. Konstanty did more for the club than most will ever value though. Without him, Mills wouldn't have had to surrender his midfield time to Heeney and then we wouldn't have one of the best players in the comp playing in his rightful position!

Last 5 years have been pretty poor.

Discounting academy shennigans we have Roberts, Logan and Warner best 22 from last 5 drafts.

Taken 15 picks, so strike rate of 20% on our picks.

Last great draft was 2018

Havent been this frustrated since GF Day. You'd think after a 60 point belting in a GF you'd look to get better.

Trade periods won't define us though. Neither will GFs. Not sure what will to be honest.

So confused about the messaging from the club.

I bet we were the only club giving out participation awards at the Best and Fairest.

Next pre season we will sit in a big circle holding hands and singing kumbaya my lord

People celebrated Dalrymple’s appointment in 2018 but fair to say he didn’t deliver

Why we didn’t go for someone like DGB or Taylor in the trading period, I’ll never know. Watch us pick nobody up as a delisted free agent 🙄

DGB has been very poor

And Taylor as in Sam Taylor? Cause if so that would be monumental but almost impossible

Curtis Taylor from North Melbourne. We could have sounded him out before he was delisted like North Melbourne did with Luke Parker

A lot of Bulldogs fans were glad to see the back of him and lamented how he left their list lopsided with inside midfielders.

He clearly took that constructive feedback in the opposite direction and decided he'd leave our list lopsided with outside midfielders.

He's at St Kilda now, so maybe he'll finally get the balance right. At least we won't need to worry about them doing any damage with it.

So our last two efforts as a club were

  • Grand Final day
  • demanding a second round pick for a contracted Parker, and then settling for a pick in the 40s plus giving away our first pick from 2 years ago for nothing.

We are humming
This won’t define us though

Not sure we will be top 4 next season.

Brissy
Collingwood
Hawks
Giants
Freo
Carlton
Cats

all going to be better than us.

Heeney has a cooked ankle and Chad half way out the door. Teams worked us out and won't allow us corridor use we can't cope with pressure and haven't improved as a list

2025 set to be a gem

There's natural improvement in the proven players most likely we can rely on to be fair.

But I think we needed more depth and fight for the best 22

Hopefully we could see some movement on Warner over the next month now Parker’s salary is confirmed to be off our cap.

We could potentially upgrade his 2025 salary in return for a 1 or 2 year extension.

If that’s not in the works, or even agreed to in principle right now, then I reckon he will go after 2025.
