aside from this year being a good year potentially

I think many clubs are preparing from current draft for the compromised drafts coming

Compromised is putting it lightly.

May as well wipe those years out Richmond tried to speed up the process but unless they pick perfectly they are ****ed for a good decade or so.

Clubs like Carlton/Port/Collingwood are looking stuffed they would hope to grab a flag or two to justify the upcoming lean years.

I actually saw this on a random Facebook post and assumed they’d confused us with GWS

Haven’t seen enough of him to comment but he seems the type we’d recruit for a gap we seemingly have, but Horse would keep him banished in the VFL without giving him a chance

But if 9 touches and 20 hitouts is what passes as a good game for Stretch, he's nowhere near Ladhams who averaged 15 touches and 20 hitouts in 2022 and 2023.

I still think Ladhams a waste of space. He is about as thick as a short plank. If he isn't, then how come he continues to get suspended, even in the reserves

Talent League stats (avg): 23.1 disposals, 11 contested possessions, 1.7 goals
Dattoli is a confident and competitive kid – and that has shone through in club interviews, with a mixed response to it, but more believe it is a positive, particularly given what it takes to succeed at his height. A natural footballer, it would not surprise if Dattoli was snapped up in the teens. He will spend time in the midfield and up forward in the AFL, with his improved endurance, toughness and power combining to make him a good stoppage player, and he is a good mark for his size.

The second of the Whitlock twins is a couple of centimetres shorter, but proved himself more than capable at both ends this year. Like his brother, he is athletic, works hard and is a good mover for his size – demonstrated by his 20m sprint time (3.05 secs) Whitlock’s key-position appeal for clubs is obvious, even beyond his height: He kicked multiple goals eight times in the Talent League, but his season also includes three games with four or more intercept marks. His set-shot kicking could improve.

Pick 40 Charlie Nicholls
Central District/South Australia
Key forward, 197cm, 8/6/2006
SANFL U18s stats (avg): 15 disposals, 7.5 marks, 2 goals
Nicholls was viewed as a potential first-rounder as recently as before the under-18 championships, but is now more likely to be taken in this draft range – or even later. He is lightly framed, will take time to develop and might never be a No.1 forward, but there is potential here. Nicholls is quick (2.96 20m at combine) and marks the ball well, and a club that is willing to be patient with him might be rewarded.

Hamish Davis went at 32, the much discussed Hynes at 28, Mraz 30, Barat 31 and Sims at 34.

WA have named their summer training squad (starting prep for next year's U-18 National Championships).
42 players named, incl 3 underagers.
None have the surname of Warner.

Pistol Pete is certainly no scholar, but he's a very capable (and contracted) back-up ruck.

He also seemed to pull his head in a bit this season.

We'll be a lot better off calling on him when Grundy's not available next year than Green or McAndrew.

Sounds like he's (Oliver) got a great attitude, work ethic. Depends on how he's interviewed.

Plus they've drafted a couple of WA kids, a Tasmanian, and a Vic Metro player in the last 2 years, so I think they back themselves.

We've just seen the pull of the Victorian $$$ on even Academy talent at the Giants. They don't have a good record of keeping Vic Metro talent.

If Dattoli can play as an inside mid, not the worst draft.

Not sure we pick up an extra KPD actually with Cochran joining Snell, Edwards as developing types and having 2 mature agers in the VFL. I think we aim for Snell and Edwards to be ready in 2026 and maybe a mature ager and a draftee to join next off season. And if we don't see Whitlock as a KPD, wouldn't be picking up Nicholls later.

In terms of pure KPDs would rather pull the trigger on Harry O'Farrell early, or get Clancy Dennis at our 3rd pick (with M Whitlock, Kayle Gerreyn or Thomas Sims as a KPF earlier, or just go with Davis).

Yep. Matt could be forward or back. No reason not to start him out up front.
Dattoli looks potentially a good player but I would prefer a decent medium forward or mid with that third pick.
