TDK named on the field. I’m thinking then the sub will be one of the five on the bench. Leaning towards Cerra given we have the 3 smalls and if we’re struggling in the midfield and the smalls aren’t providing enough then he’ll come in at the expense of one of them.

Kennedy and Kemp are more versatile, Cowan the extra defender and could also be a surprise further up the ground.
Fantasia?

I'm excited and really looking forward to our game tomorrow

I prefer to think of us winning and grinning at all the expert commentators who gave us no chance.
Watch them do a u-turn when we come out with a win against the Lions - and then go from strength to strength :D

Let's go Baggers!

If they had serious doubt over his fitness they wouldn't have picked him, people here doubting the selection doesn't really count.
In all fairness Gab, there is a number of times this year where we have picked players from long and repetitive injury layoffs as well as poor form or no form at all that have been selected or rushed straight back into the lineup…

Match committee have runs on the board when it comes to selecting players who have not been AFL ready, there’s enough evidence of poor selection management this year to suggest that the club have favored players who clearly shouldn’t have been selected strait back in or should have been given a number of weeks coming back through the reserves…

Yes you can say that the club knows it’s players management better than anyone on the outside, doesn’t mean that they are not prone to mistakes or poor management decisions…

To be fair, I think we have had mixed results with returning players this year

Some have hit the ground running with good output, others have struggled and or reinjured themselves

Strong chance of a late change, or two. Cinc in to take Zorko, for Cerra. Looks a no brainer to me.

Another possibility would be Motlop out for Moir. This is perhaps a less likely one.
Yep to Cinc/Zorko absolutely should happen. not sure who the out will be but suspect one of Mots or Durds as Fantasia provides a point of difference.

Not sure why we are being compared to the Cats or any other side

Exactly, it's comparing apples with oranges. Stewart was a late out, crook, which is just bad luck.

Of the others, SDK is a gun, but they still had Henry, Kolo and Blicavs to handle a relatively weak trio of Port talls i.e. they simply didn't need to take a risk.

The other 3 have either hardly played at all, or not definite best 22 any more.

Guthrie, 4 games, none since round 10. He is our Jack Martin, has hardly played and we didn't pick JM accordingly.
Hawkins, 12 games for 15 goals, 6 goals since round 4. He's finished, although they will probably play him in front of Neale to send him off.
Rohan, 33 years old. 12 games, 6 sub-affected for 9 goals. Another who is finished.

All of our ins are definite best 15 players. Those left out are not yet best 22 players. It's fairly simple isn't it.

I am not happy with selections at all……

But agree

It’s time we moved on.

Come on. It’s “focus on game” time. It’s getting boring.

Here’s my updated side with the assumption they all play:

Back 7:
Young Weiters MCG Newman Cowan Saad Ollie

Mids: Pitto Cripps Cerra Walsh Hewett Acres Doc

Forwards: TDK Mckay Kemp Fantasia Lij Durdin Mots Williams

Sub Kennedy

Pace is the issue. BUT if you look closely at the forwards they are all quick or quickish. The 3 bigs all chase. Game plan could centre around:
1. Don’t let Andrews take any intercepts. Bring everything to ground
2. All forwards chase flat out. No passengers on the chase.
3. Take Andrews out of play (McKay decoy up the ground). Kemp and TdK to dominate in air.
4. Fingers crossed no injuries and 3/4 time sub out Pitto. TDK on ball majority of the last.
5. Saad to Cameron. Ollie to Bailey.

I'm aware of all this but originally I was questioning the assertion that there have been 'serious doubts' surrounding cerra's ability to play? I've seen people doubt it here but questioning selection based upon that?, not sure it's how it works.

Like I said, that's as far as I'm wanting to delve into it, team is in and we move on to the game. I think that we have probably picked close to the best side possible to play in a final considering who is available to play.

All good 👍

Why is everyone banging on about cincotta , when was the last time he played a decent game … I would put doc on Zorko , frustrate the hell out of him and try and kick a few … go baggers
Because when he is given a role, he gets it done. May not win a game off his own boot, or get 30+, but is very dependable to shut down his opponent.
