It amazes me that people form such strong opinions based on very limited data. I don't think they realise the players actually spend time at the club, they wear their GPS units for load measurements (these days, with gait measurement to pick up on players compensating for soreness or injury), they conduct strength and range of movement tests, and they put them through match sim to see how they're performing.

Without being privy to that information, hard to be hyper critical. Maybe Cerra went head to head with Lord in match sim and he trounced him. We don't know what we don't know. Happy to give the club the benefit of the doubt.
You don’t need data to know that one bloke has been off form for most the season, pinged hammies left right and centre & hasn’t played in weeks.
The other smashed it last week & had the most pressure acts for the side.

Of course not - u seem to have just glossed over the part where i mentioned form!
Gov is a key piece, Williams is our best small forward & makes the forward line significantly better, Mackay is Mackay he’s in the first few picked.

What about Motlop? You know the bloke who can’t even be described as a witches hat as a witches hat isn’t a deadset liability!

Durds shoulder is ****ed & he did nothing & don’t get me started on Faz.

Brisbane destroys teams via run from the back line & forward pressure.
Ineffectual forwards & players that are half a step off will get us killed.
It’s finals footy, the first missed tackle is the one that counts - u need to be 100% fit and stick it.

Like for like comparison is foolhardy, 85-90% Cerra (from his peak form) is better than most.
Cerra coming off 4 hammies & no game time of late isn’t him at 85-90% that’s 75% at best & liability to a team game that relies on him doing his part.

Lord based on his last game & what he brings to the team covers that & isn’t a liability that leads to us being smashed on clearance/spread.

Fair point - we've found common ground on Motlop & Durds. Both are woefully out of form or too sore to be playing - you're right. With TDK, McKay & Kemp as our tall forward trio not having specialised smalls at their feet would be obviously problematic however. They're lucky (and just highlights we have depth in the small forward role but not enough class).

I thought Lord was stiff and would have preferred him over one of the above but he was obviously in a race with Cerra and they've gone for class/experience which i can understand.

Still think we see Cincotta lining up next to one of Zorko, Cameron or Neale at the opening bounce. Feels like we’re foxing with Brisbane. No inside knowledge, just gut feel. Hope he’s out there.
Agree, Zorko & Cameron will have been relieved last night when they seen him omitted but may not be the case tomorrow evening.

Think both TDK & Cerra might be both late changes.

Those claiming MC being cagey with omission of cinc 😂😂

You really think lions are that silly to fall for childish tactics like that??

What are they going to do …not play Zorko 🤦
Maybe it just creeps into some of their players minds a tiny bit….

Only got to be 5% off focus these days….

The more possible direct opponents there are, the more the opponent has to think.

If Cinc is named, Zorko and the Lions just know whats going to happen and put their focus on other things. Now they're looking at a team sheet trying to figure out other possible match-ups and how to exploit them, and not thinking about other things.

Maybe they had a player pegged to disrupt Cinc tagging Zorko, so what is that player doing the next couple of days? Just hoping it IS a late change and not putting any energy into plan B?

I agree with you - based on what we've seen, wouldn't play Cerra. The MC have seen that, Voss and the club have repeatedly called out the risk of underdone players, with Cerra being firmly in that group.

Knowing that it's on their radar, I'd be staggered if Cerra didn't smash it on the track last week to be in the frame for selection.

Geez TDK in, amazing. He didn't even get on the track at training last Saturday, Curnow wasn't doing much but was at least out there. As others have said I reckon they're playing funny buggers, late change brewing there (hopefully for Moir).

Cerra too, big risk. Can't shake the feeling we'll be down to about 2 rotations by the 3rd quarter.

Other major worry is Durdin Motlop and Fantasia all in the same forward line. They'd wanna bring a bit more defensive profile than usual

Assuming one of the talls drops out, as the team is top heavy. Smalls win modern football, rarely a key fwd has any material impact. It is a good takeaway for us as we do lack runners on the list.

“Mighty” Cats great last night.

A few weeks ago Cats lost to Aints at Marvel by 3 goals. A week later we lose to them last kick of the night, same venue, with our depleted team. Earlier in the year we beat Cats by 10 goals.

Gives me hope for tmrw night, just hope not too many dodgy inclusions
Yes there is hope as cats at one stage of the season looked to be missing finals all together.

Definitely if we “click” and recapture what’s been missing or fixed what’s been tinkered with for the last 2 months and find that first 17 round form then yes we’re a good shot to cause damage this finals series.

Port when in like us last year off 9 wins off 10 games and at home they floundered. It’s definitely a mind thing. My only concern is the mind might be willing but is the body able? Port took in too many players not fit enough like Dixon, and Rozee. Geelong named a fully fit line up and didn’t bring in some available due to lack of match fitness.

My view is if we pinch a final win or 2 and we’ll see 2023 like fade as the toll of the injury riddled catches up again and only the likes of Cripps can hold us up for so many games in a row and we can’t expect that to be the case in finals.

Lot of rumours that Gov is very doubtful and will be given until tomorrow to prove his hammy is okay
