Yes I agree #unlock the WPfTC thread.

I agree with your most likely to be delisted group.

The interesting names for me are TBerry, DevRobbo and Prior. 3 guys, who are borderline best 22 and from all reports very solid citizens, all out of contract. I don’t want to come across as a school kid trading player cards, but I wonder if their futures are tied to the Ashcroft decision.

you would think both WA clubs would come hard for ready made local players. There is potential to pick up points for possible first round matching. I guess the list managers would need to play it hard, even though they are probably like me and would prefer in other circumstances to keep them on our list.
I really like TBerry, Dev and Prior.. Although not sure players outside your best 22 worth much pick value.
Be interesting what we do delist wise. Prob depend on if our F/S nominate for us or not.
If we looking at all three F/S mids.. You say a few outside 22 mids might be moved on.

IMO we are likely to only bring in 3-4 players in the draft(not sure what happens via trade/FA), eg. Will Ashcroft, Jaspa Fletcher + ? so I think T.Berry, Dev and Prior are pretty safe re getting a contract extension.

Hummm…. You would think they would be in normal circumstance. After McStay, Gardiner and that short bloke who can’t play half back, you would think they were priorities. No discussion about contract offers, maybe I just have a twisted mind.

I think we’ll bring in Arnold from our VFL side and also maybe another tall from our academy. First I’ve heard of Bradshaw this season so it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up. I could also see Cox getting moved on as well, see how he goes for 12 months and if he hasn’t really been a stand out he probably doesn’t have too much improvement left from here.

I would be disappointed if we’re trading borderline best 22 players just for points.

Those WA clubs aren’t going to offer much more than a late second round pick for either DevRob or Prior. Especially West Coast who are about to start a rebuild.

Could they be used in a bigger deal, say our first this year and Dev/Prior for their future first?

I believe we’ll trade this year’s first for points. We’re going to need a lot.

I’ll be p!ssed if we trade Dev and/or Prior, unless we get Brayshaw (melb) in a deal.

Gees Andy Bradyshawis playing pretty good footy atm . 34 touches last night would be a great foil for Neale and Lyons. We were deciding between him and Rayner and we went the X factor . Atm Brayshaw is miles ahead of anything rayner has delivered .

Wrong thread. Discussion already well underway.

Happy with Rayner, he is a gun. Cant compare the 2 as they are completely different players.

Not sure how people can make claims like "miles ahead" when comparing 2 different players and 1 coming off a knee injury.

People do seem to have goldfish memories though

Don’t have gold fish memories at all . Clearly Rayner will take time coming off ACL . But Brayshaw has shown 10 times more then what Rayner has ever shown and IMO would increase our chances of winning a flag if we had him . Anyway we don’t have him and hopefully Rayner comes good but atm Rayner is probably lucky to still be getting a game in 22 tbh .

Rayner’s very, very best year doesn’t even compare to Petracca’s worst year, not by a long shot, and right up until 2020, people were questioning Petracca being drafted at pick 2.

Rayner’s performances to date are not even “gun” worthy.

I'm still very bullish on Rayner, it is obvious that he wants to succeed and is working his backside off to get there, the want is a large part of the puzzle IMO, he will be a very slow burn, he is 22 now and I don't expect him to peak until he his 25-26 years of age when he will still have a good half a dozen years left in the game.

Some players are slow burn types - recall back in 2017 many scoffed at the suggestion that McCluggage was better than McGrath. Petracca didn't come good until a year or two ago. From memory Hodge was as well while Judd was a gun from the get go
